Why Early Access?

“Nightbane will go into Early Access to show players as much of a vertical slice as possible for many of our systems.
The current version of our game implements most of the gameplay loop and mechanics that we envisioned. We plan to expand on this, but also add some new systems we think would be fun and engaging. As much as possible, we'd like to base this on player feedback to make sure our vision doesn't become warped. We think Early Access is the best place for bringing our ideas to life, while keeping it in line with what you, our community, expect. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to release the full game in 1 year since entering Early Access. This may vary depending on player feedback and on player sentiment regarding new features we wish to add.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is slated to have the following extra features:
- more environment variations: each level tier would have 3 biomes and a varying number of routes inside each biome.
- expanded skill repertoire
- all 6 weapon fully implemented
- better meta-progression via permanent currency
- expanded codex information
- spellbook: individually adjustable spell parameters for most active spells (i.e. increase range while incurring a cost to duration, or better AoE radius but longer cooldown)
- all 3 playable characters, the bosses and most npcs fully voiced
- intermission area vendor that lets players buy/sell and change certain aspects of their build mid-run”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the game features:
- the first tier area of the level, with route variations
- 3 playable characters
- 5 different enemies with variations, and 1 area-end boss
- 8 abilities, each with 2-5 augments, 6 passives, 12 attributes
- 2 weapon sets”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan on increasing the price moderately once we reach version 1.0. The current price of our game reflects the Early Access status and is set lower out of respect for our early adopters and the invaluable feedback that they may choose to provide us.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We intend to filter as much of our process through community feedback. While we believe in our vision, we do not want it to become distorted and grow out of the constraints of what the players find enjoyable.”
