What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Urban Pulse: Nightwatch is a system-driven game where pacing, event frequency, and difficulty need real player feedback to feel "just right". We're launching in Early Access because the core experience is playable today, and we want the community to help us shape balance, improve clarity/UX, and guide which anomalies and features we prioritize next. Early Access also helps us test performance and stability across a wide range of PC hardware.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Urban Pulse: Nightwatch to remain in Early Access for approximately 3-6 months. The exact timeline depends on feedback, testing, and how the game evolves during development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access we plan to expand the game in several areas, including:
- A much larger library of pre-made nights (handcrafted pacing and escalation). Our goal is to grow far beyond the initial set. Currently we have pre-made nights up to 100. Up to 10,000 nights are planned.
- More anomalies and event variations to improve replayability
- More progression/unlocks and long-term goals
- Improved onboarding, UI polish, and accessibility options
- Ongoing performance optimizations, bug fixes, and stability improvements based on community reports

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable with the core loop in place: you monitor the city at night, identify unusual activity, and document anomalies while managing risk and staying alert to nearby threats. The current build includes a working night flow, event system, and multiple anomaly types with randomized timing to support replayability.
Some features and content are still in development, and we expect balance changes, additional events, and general polish throughout Early Access.

Technical note: The game requires DirectX 12 and a Shader Model 6 (SM6+) compatible GPU (DX11 is not supported).

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the price fair during Early Access, and we may increase it as major updates and new content/features are added or when the game reaches full release. Early Access players will receive all updates included with their purchase.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll actively use community feedback to guide development during Early Access. Players can share suggestions, report bugs, and discuss balance through Steam Discussions, and our Discord Server. We plan to post regular patch notes and development updates (especially on Discord), and we'll prioritize improvements based on what has the biggest impact on gameplay quality, pacing, and performance.
