Build whatever you want - chapels, dormitories, breweries, kitchens, infirmaries, gardens or workshops - and allow monks to fill them with purpose (and the occasional catastrophe). No rigid grid and no forced layouts. Every piece of land is yours to shape - in compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Help them grow

Brother Bernard is a gifted brewer but deadly gardener, and Sister Matilda illuminates manuscripts beautifully but she cannot resist a second portion of porridge.

Monks have their own skills, needs and quirks. Assign them to work that fits their talents and keep them well fed, then watch how the community, and the drama, unfolds.

From grape to goblet (or beehive to candlestick)

Grow, harvest, and find your place in the medieval market. Build cellars for your monastery's finest: gather grapes, ferment juice and age it in oak barrels. Weary pilgrims always crave a good drink.

Bread, cheese, beverages, medication and illuminated manuscripts - every good is hand made by your monks, with due care and in compliance with all required standards.

Destination for pilgrims

Your monastery isn't only a building project - with your help it might became the most popular destination for pilgrims in the centuries that follow. Every guest arrives with reasons of their own: to pray, to learn, to trade or to find a moment of peace.

And though many new faces may pass through the gates of your sanctuary each day, some you might recognize as returning pilgrims - weary from their fortunes - who will remember how you hosted them last time. Treat them well and your monastery's name will travel far.

Holy chaos

Things sometimes go sideways. A crop might wilt at the worst possible moment, or Brother Albert might vanish in brewery and "forget" his way out. And every so often, a little curse might creep in to turn your finest vintage into something even the most polite will decline.
