What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Clash of Worlds needs time to develope and mold into a proper and stable state. The current state of cards and game mechanics are currently developed directly from concept. The game will need time become more consistent and further realize its identity. Many cards and card abilities are planned to change throughout the Early Access. It is planned throughout the Early Access to replace the AI art used in the cards with human-made art. Throughout the Early Access, it is planned to release new cards as time goes on.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Although the future is not clear, I plan on having a full release in Q1 2029.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early mistakes and inconsistancies that will be present during the Early Access of the game is planned to not be present in the full version of the game. I plan on replacing all AI artwork with human-made artwork and to further expand upon currently existing acrchetypes and future archetypes added during the game's Early Access development. Some planned features for the full version are Calling Judges, Reporting Users, Friend Requests, and Brawl Format.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently implemented features of the game are: Complex Deck Building Menu, Multi-Format & Gamemode Lobby Hosting, Lobby Spectating, and Fully Manual Gameplay.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Clash of Worlds will remain free-to-play.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discussions and feedback can be shared via the Clash of Worlds Discord server. There you may also suggest changes to the game, suggest edits to existing cards, or even suggest new cards be added. All suggestions are read by me, the Developer, and are considered with great consideration. Clash of Worlds is meant to be "for the players". If you are unhappy with something or think something should be different, you can very easily communicate it with me and others community members who may feel the same way.”

About This Game

Clash of Worlds is a turn-based strategic card game. Based off of the popular card game, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Clash of Worlds features many similar mechanics. Clash of Worlds is designed with the sole purpose of "fun" in mind. Precautionary steps are in place to prevent egregious "power creep" that ruins card games like Yu-Gi-Oh!.

This application, in which you can play Clash of Worlds, is fully manual style of play. This means that nothing is done for you. You play as if you were playing "in real life". If you wish to learn to play, join the Discord or check out the tutorial videos in-game (links to youtube videos). It is suggested to do both. People in the Discord would be more than willing to teach you how to play the game.

Formats

Clash of Worlds features a multitude of different formats, however, some of these formats do not exist as of yet due to a banlist not being in place yet.

Eternal - As the name would suggest, this is the eternal format. Every card is legalized with a periodically changing banlist and new cards being added as time goes on. This format is mainly for those who are looking for great complexity or higher difficulty in their games.

Legacy - Not a true legacy format, but the essence of one. This format is for slow, back-and-forth style of place. Many cards in Clash of Worlds will be banned in this format. This is to create an envirement of simplicity and ease of play. This is for those who are beginners and are looking to learn the basics of the game.

Mid-Play - The in-between of Eternal and Legacy formats. This features some level of complexity and difficulty without going as far as Eternal. The is reminiscent to Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Edison Format. This format bans a lot of cards from the game, but not as many as Legacy.

Each of the above formats will continuously be supported and will receive new cards.

Other Formats

The previous formats were major formats. These next formats listed are some of the less common formats or formats not currently supported.

Chaos - This format gives each player a Main Deck of 45 random cards and an Extra Deck of 15 random cards.

Team Duel - Currently only 2v2s are supported. Some cards specifically support this format.

Brawl - Not currently supported. Some cards specifically support this format.

Cycle - Not currently supported. This format only legalizes cards in specific sets/packs that are cycled through periodically, allowing for a fresh feel of game state.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

All cards in the game that currently have art are created using various AI generators and models. All AI artwork contained within this game is to be considered temporary over a long term period of time. Some AI generated artworks may be replaced by human-made artwork of the course of this game's existence. New cards added into the game may or may not contain AI artworks. Any replacements of AI to human-made artworks will always be announced in the game's Discord server.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

One may find various, and possibly unwanted, acts and visual representations of mature content of varying degrees depicted in the artworks of the cards currently in the game and cards that will be added in the future. If one has sensitivity to mature acts and/or themes, it is generally recommended to avoid this game. Any artworks that one may deem too graphic may contact its creator through discord.
