What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Piece of Ship is my idea, but I want the game to grow together with the players.

Early Access allows me to shape the game based on real feedback from people actually playing it. I want players to tell me what is missing, what feels frustrating, and what could make the game even more fun and chaotic in co-op.

This is a game built around shared panic, communication, and emergent situations, and those work best when they are tested and refined together with the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to release the full version within approximately 6 to 8 months.

The development will be split into stages:

- Initial Early Access release
- A major update with additional mechanics and more maps
- Final release with all confirmed features and randomly generated maps

The exact timeline may change depending on feedback and development progress, but the goal is a complete and polished full release within this timeframe.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Piece of Ship is planned to include:

- More playable maps
- Randomly generated submarine layouts
- Additional gameplay mechanics
- Visual and polish improvements

Early Access focuses on the core experience, while the full version expands and refines it based on what works best.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and focuses on the core gameplay loop.

It includes:

- One playable submarine map
- All core mechanics required to survive a run
- Full co-op functionality
- Short, complete sessions that end in success or failure

The game is stable enough to play, but additional content, polish, and features are planned throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price of the game will increase gradually as new content and features are added during development.

Early Access offers the lowest price point, with increases planned for Major Update and the Final Release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback is a core part of development.

After each game session, players are shown a summary screen with an optional feedback button where they can share suggestions and ideas.

In addition, a dedicated Discord server will be available where players can discuss the game, report issues, and propose new mechanics. Community feedback will directly influence future updates and features.”

About This Game

PIECE OF SHIP

Piece of Ship is a chaotic first-person co-op game where your submarine is constantly falling apart - and it’s your job to keep it alive for just a little longer.

Leaks. Exploding pipes. Electrical failures. Flooded rooms.
You have duct tape, one wrench for the entire crew, and very little time.

Fix the ship.
Or drown trying.

EVERYTHING IS BREAKING

Your submarine is made of interconnected rooms and corridors.
At any moment, something can go wrong:

  • Cracked windows leaking water

  • Pipes bursting under pressure

  • Electrical systems failing or flooding

  • Valves that must be closed carefully… or they’ll explode

Failures appear randomly and more often with more players, forcing the crew to constantly move, adapt, and panic.

PROXIMITY CHAT = PURE CHAOS

Communication is your greatest weapon. And your biggest weakness.

Piece of Ship uses proximity voice chat:

  • If your teammate is in another room, they can’t hear you

  • Someone must watch the control room screens

  • Someone must actually run to the others and yell what’s wrong

Expect shouting, confusion, and very bad decisions.

ONE WRENCH. MANY PROBLEMS.

There is only one wrench on the entire submarine.

  • Remember where you left it

  • Share tools

  • Run through flooded corridors

  • Trip over door thresholds while sprinting

  • Get ragdolled by explosions and flying pipes

Lose too much HP?
Eat a SCHNITZEL and get back to work. No excuses.

SOLO OR CO-OP (BUT REALLY… CO-OP)

  • 1–4 players

  • Solo play is possible

  • Co-op is highly recommended for maximum chaos and fun

Each run lasts around 15 minutes, ending either with:

  • A barely functioning submarine

  • Or a spectacular, watery failure

“ONE MORE TRY”

Piece of Ship is built around short, intense sessions that make you say:

“Okay… one more try. This time we’ve got it.”

You probably don’t.
But you’ll laugh trying.
