Piece of Ship is a chaotic co-op for 1-4 players where survival is optional, but company loyalty is mandatory. Grab the singular wrench, patch the cracks with tape, and try to keep this bucket afloat! Remember: asking questions about the mission objective is strictly forbidden.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Piece of Ship is my idea, but I want the game to grow together with the players.

Early Access allows me to shape the game based on real feedback from people actually playing it. I want players to tell me what is missing, what feels frustrating, and what could make the game even more fun and chaotic in co-op.

This is a game built around shared panic, communication, and emergent situations, and those work best when they are tested and refined together with the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to release the full version within approximately 6 to 8 months.

The development will be split into stages:

- Initial Early Access release
- A major update with additional mechanics and more maps
- Final release with all confirmed features and randomly generated maps

The exact timeline may change depending on feedback and development progress, but the goal is a complete and polished full release within this timeframe.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Piece of Ship is planned to include:

- More playable maps
- Randomly generated submarine layouts
- Additional gameplay mechanics
- Visual and polish improvements

Early Access focuses on the core experience, while the full version expands and refines it based on what works best.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and focuses on the core gameplay loop.

It includes:

- One playable submarine map
- All core mechanics required to survive a run
- Full co-op functionality
- Short, complete sessions that end in success or failure

The game is stable enough to play, but additional content, polish, and features are planned throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price of the game will increase gradually as new content and features are added during development.

Early Access offers the lowest price point, with increases planned for Major Update and the Final Release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback is a core part of development.

After each game session, players are shown a summary screen with an optional feedback button where they can share suggestions and ideas.

In addition, a dedicated Discord server will be available where players can discuss the game, report issues, and propose new mechanics. Community feedback will directly influence future updates and features.”

About This Game

YOUR CAREER STARTS... AT THE BOTTOM

Join the Sub-Rosa Marine team, a world leader in specialized underwater tasks. You have been hand-picked for your high stress resistance and your refreshing lack of unnecessary curiosity. Your objective is simple: survive a shift lasting maybe 13 minutes, maybe 17. Or somewhere in between. We assure you that our missions are fully legal, and we suggest focusing entirely on the ongoing repairs of the vessel. Oh, and feel free to bring up to three companions along for the ride.

PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT

At Sub-Rosa Marine, we believe in minimalism and teamwork. Onboard, you will find:

  • Industrial-Grade Adhesive Tape: Several rolls of our finest tape. It is the only barrier between you and millions of tons of seawater.

  • The Singular Wrench: Each crew is provided with exactly one wrench. This is a deliberate design choice intended to foster team integration (and, coincidentally, reduce costs).

  • Blackout Mode™: When the water level reaches the waist of an average human (or the neck of someone your height), the ship will cut the power. This is not a failure! It is... a focus-enhancing atmosphere. Pump out the water and dry the fuse box (previous crews highly praised the efficiency of the provided hair dryer) before you forget what your teammates look like.

HEALTH AND PATRIOTISM

In the event of physical or psychological injury, consume a Schnitzel. Our proprietary recipe instantly restores operational efficiency and faith in the ideals of Sub-Rosa Marine. A healthy employee is an employee who doesn’t ask questions and runs fast.

ARCHIVAL ERRORS

During your voyage, you may encounter old VHS tapes. These are... archival errors. Watching them is discouraged, especially since you cannot stop the leaks while doing so. You must choose: will you risk it all to find out what is recorded on them?

THE LAST CHANCE

When the timer hits the final 30 seconds, the evacuation window opens in the control room. Sub-Rosa Marine values every employee who manages to reach the exit within the allotted time. The rest will simply become part of the company's "maritime heritage."

KEY FEATURES

  • Chaotic Co-op (1-4 players): The more people, the harder... and funnier it gets. Cooperation is the only way to avoid drowning. Divide the tasks and get to work!

  • Randomized Sessions: Every shift lasts between 13 and 17 minutes. The ocean is... temperamental.

  • Chaos Physics: Watch out for thresholds and avoid jumping over the ship’s infrastructure. Gravity is as ruthless as the terms of your employment.

  • Proximity Voice Chat: We strongly recommend NOT using Discord. It’s much more entertaining this way - if you want to tell someone something... you have to find them first.

EARLY ACCESS

In just the first week, the game has changed beyond recognition.

  • VHS Tape System: Uncover the history and the truth behind the ship.

  • Sub-Rosa Marine: Meet the corporation behind it all.

  • Evacuation System: A high-stakes finale to every session.

  • Countless fixes and improvements.

  • Upcoming Updates: New multi-stage failure types and a new evacuation capsule are on the way!

Player feedback is invaluable for Early Access games. Thanks to you, the game is living, growing, and getting better every day!

Sub-Rosa Marine. Because the most important things happen under the rose.
