About This Game

Gridbound is a grid-based puzzle and resource strategy game about planning, placement, and magical optimization.

You play as an alchemist whose experiments have caused a disturbance in the flow of magical essences. Pulled through unstable portals, you explore strange locations and solve self-contained board puzzles by placing items, generating resources, and discovering powerful synergies.

Each level presents a grid where items interact through clear keyword-based effects. Some items produce essence, others boost nearby production, suppress effects, rotate over time, or unlock new board space. The challenge comes from arranging efficient layouts, adapting to new mechanics, and making the most of limited room.

As you progress, you unlock new areas, advanced items, and long-term upgrades through research. Later, you’ll discover the Forgotten Foundry at the planet’s core, where powerful trinkets can permanently alter how each level behaves.

Gridbound features a light, visual-only story told through short comics between areas, a colorful pixel-art style, and a relaxed but thoughtful pace focused on experimentation and problem-solving.
