Coming Soon To Early Access

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Getting a roguelike deckbuilder right takes a lot of player feedback. You can't balance the content, smooth out the rough edges, or make sure the game runs well without people actually playing it.
That's especially true of the balance between fun and difficulty. How hard a game can be before it stops being fun is different for everyone, and whether it pulls you in is something only you can feel. Early Access lets me work that out together with the people playing the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My current estimate is about a year. If getting the game right takes longer, I'll take the extra time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more rewards that keep each run feeling fresh, expand the ways players can take their decks in different directions, and add higher difficulty tiers for experienced players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can play the game from start to finish right now.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price when the game leaves Early Access. If you buy it during Early Access, you won't have to pay extra for updates.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll be reading reviews and following discussions on the Steam Community Hub. I'm especially interested in hearing what players think about the balance and any problems they run into.
Every piece of feedback matters. I hope each update makes it clear that I'm listening.”

About This Game

Hanafuda meets roguelike deckbuilding

Play hanafuda, Japan's classic card game, as a roguelike deckbuilder!

Collect cards for scoring combinations, unlock new ones, and grab powerful relics to score big!

Pay the rent with hanafuda points

The rent bill arrives every month without fail, and it can only be paid with hanafuda points.

Push your luck, call "Go" (Koi-Koi), and multiply your score. Build the strongest deck you can to keep up with the ever-rising rent.

New to hanafuda? No problem

Rogue Hanafuda is a card-matching game played in the style of Koi-Koi.

A friendly guided first run helps first-time players jump straight in, no prior knowledge needed.

Follow the guide to learn the cards, the rules, and the combinations.

Losing is not the end: permanent progression

Don't be discouraged by a lost run. Every game scatters petals, which accumulate as a permanent currency.

Unlock new combinations and special cards, then return for your next run with overwhelming power!

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of the original art in this game (the bonus cards, bomb card, curse card, crimson paulownia card, soiled card back, pixel card back, two reward chest frames, and combination popup frame) was created using AI-assisted procedural generation scripts. The store capsules, icon, and trailer are derived from this in-game art and are therefore covered by this disclosure.

All supported languages other than Korean (including English) were translated using AI translation tools, then checked through machine back-translation and additional review.
