This is an anomaly game set inside a mall. Several Jump scares. Fun little "Spot the difference game" with a touch of horror. Get it correct 10 times in a row and you win. You can consider this "Early Release" But the first store is done and if this does well I'll add more in the future :)

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm using Early Access because the core game of what I originally intended is playable now, but I’m still actively expanding core content and polishing presentation. My goal here is for community feedback to shape the difficulty and guide which additions matter most as I build toward a 1.0. (What to add, what to take out, what feels right and wrong). I’m committed to continuing development through Early Access, responding to feedback/bugs, and regularly updating the game until it reaches a complete 1.0 release. Specific goals can be seen in the "How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?"”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1-2 years”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add MANY more anomaly "Stores" in the future, redesign the mall itself to look much nicer, overhaul the Menus to give them a nicer look/feel, and greatly expand on character customization to include more colors, graphics, and skin types.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully Playable - Please refer to the "About This Game" section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan on increasing the price. I want my games to always be accessible and NEVER break the bank. (I'm not looking to get rich) ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“User feedback is important and will NOT be ignored. Everyone that plays my game is incredibly important to me. Currently the only communication option is email. Social medias such as X, Facebook, and Discord will be added in the future.”

About This Game

Welcome to The Undermall! You are trapped in a mall where you must spot the differences to gain.... freedom? Escape? Be set free?

In this game you find yourself in front of the "Warm Subject". A nice little goth store. When you enter, study it. See what all is there, and where it's at. When you think you have it down, go through the "Green Exit" to begin. You will find yourself right back in front of the store again. BUT! this time, when you enter, something MIGHT be different. It could be a small change such as missing jewelry. It could be glaringly obvious. It might just JUMP out and scare you. OR it could be nothing. If there is any change then you go through the anomaly door (the red exit). If nothing is changed then go through the safe door (the green exit). Be careful! If you get it wrong then you're back to room 0 (which will always be a safe room for you to re study). Get it right 10 times in a row and you win.

NOTE: There will NEVER be audio only anomalies.

Controls are simple. Standard WASD movement, Shift to sprint, Ctrl to crouch, Space to jump, and Right click (hold) to zoom in. I've added a fun little emote if you press the tab key.

Low, Medium, High, and Ultra graphics settings. Mouse sensitivity slider. Music and SFX sliders.

There is a simple "Character Customization" platform you can enter if you wish to change the color and type of clothing you're wearing. I plan on expanding customization more in the future.

There is also a "Speed Run Overlay" you can enable in the settings at any time. Let me see what you can do Speed Runners!

While there are no "Easy, Medium, or Hard" settings I would consider this a "Medium" difficulty game. None of the anomalies are so small as to illicit the "How would anyone EVER notice that" but do pay close attention. I can't make it so easy that it's just a HAND out.

There is no story mode or any dialog. It just is. I MAY add a one time cut scene in the future.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI DISCLAIMER. I will be upfront. Much of the art in the game is AI generated. This will slowly be fazed out over time. Commissioning artists is EXPENSIVE and I do not have the skills nor the time to become good at art. If this does well, all imagery will be replaced by commissioned humans.

The developers describe the content like this:

Some images on display could be considered as "Demonic" or "Satanic".
