Waarom vroegtijdige toegang?

'I believe in involving the community during the development phase of this very niche game. I don't believe there is any other game or computer-based simulation quite like it at the moment. So, whilst it may only attract a niche audience, I believe that audience is quite passionate. I welcome all feedback during the Early Access phase so that I can deliver an authentic experience in this very unique genre. '

'I am currently planning for the Early Access phase to last anywhere between 6-12 months. This may change (either reduce or increase) if priorities/scoping for the project changes during development.'

'The full version will add additional components and mechanics to the game world.

E.g. I am planning on an additional boiler, a steam condenser, DC generator with auxiliary diesel or steam engine so they player can run their plant isolated from the power grid, and many upgrade options for the pumping station itself. Not to mention, other aspects of the game will be further refined and polished during Early Access, and included in the full version release.'

'The Early Access build will provide a solid foundation for the player to interact with the main steam engine and pumping station proper to complete their shifts.

They will have full control over preparing, running and maintaining the main steam engine, as well as the associated pumping systems. They will be able to receive and fulfill contract offers, order supplies and generally keep the plant running (or not).

While the core experience is in place, players should expect to encounter bugs and optimization issues.'

Zal het spel anders geprijsd worden tijdens en na vroegtijdige toegang?

'The price of the game will be lower during the Early Access phase. I believe in rewarding early players of the game by making it more accessible and it is hoped that with ongoing community feedback during the Early Access phase, Empire Water Works will be developed to be the best it can be as we approach v1.0 release.'

'Most of the community interaction I plan to have will be via the Steam discussion boards and through my social media channels such as my YouTube channel and Facebook page.'

  • Operate and maintain a massive double-expansion steam engine from the bygone era

  • Interact with vintage machinery like boilers, water pumps and bilge pumps

  • Perform maintenance on equipment and order supplies such as coal and steam oil

  • Pump water to the town's residential, municipal and industrial water reservoirs, ensuring sufficient water pressure is maintained across the three reservoirs
