About This Game

Crescent Break is an action-roguelike platformer that takes place in a futuristic world. Traverse the peculiar surroundings and collect new weapons, character upgrades, and special items to unlock new areas and secrets. Permadeath, procedurally generated levels, and randomized abilities mean that each run will be unique and interesting!

Robust upgrades that affect many aspects of the game including the player, enemies, plasmoids (bullets), scraps (enemy debris & drops), and the environments. Stack abilities on top of each other and form unique synergies for a fun and chaotic experience. Increase the amount of scraps then make them transform into player projectiles, causing devastating chain reactions. And many more synergies. Find new combinations that have unforeseen effects!

We combine a large variety of retro influences into something new. Some influences include the classic MegaMan games for player movement, Nuclear Throne's "juicy" game feel, and Spelunky for creatively deadly situations that the player will find themselves in.

In the not-so-distant future, the water supply is chemically altered to be a power source for robotic creatures - which makes it unusable for everyone else. A rebel group of environmental hacktivists (called RIVER) have been trying to fight back, and using scrap parts they scavenged, they have created their own robot to help them fight back - a being known as Moon.

To reach the end you'll traverse unique stages including The Mainframe, Limestone Quarters, Aqualoatia, and The Substructure. Secrets await which require playing in different and unique ways to access them.
