About This Game

The Cold Cases: Remembering Jory is a narrative mystery played entirely through a working desktop. You are Max Drascher, an investigative journalist hired by GlimmerTV to dig into the 2016 disappearance of Jory Michener: a 23-year-old from Michigan who vanished days after Christmas and was never found.

The police moved on. The headlines stopped. The family went quiet. Something about this case doesn’t add up, and the world is watching your documentary.

Investigate the way you actually would.
Open apps. Read and reply to emails in ColdMail. Search names and places on SearchIt. Scroll Echo for leads, arguments, and dead ends. Save documents to Files. Make calls. Take notes. Every clue lives somewhere on your computer, you just have to find it and decide what to follow.

Every lead has a cost.
People don’t want this story reopened. Inboxes fill up. Threads turn hostile. Sources go cold. You’re not solving a puzzle in a vacuum; you’re building a case under pressure, with a town that would rather you Let Jory Rest.

A mystery for the chronically online.
If you’ve ever lost an afternoon down a true-crime rabbit hole, refreshing feeds, cross-referencing names, rereading the same email for the third time, this is that feeling in game form. Slow-burn, detail-heavy, and deeply suspicious of everyone on your contact list.

Come for the missing-person case. Stay because you can’t stop checking one more message.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

As the artwork is photorealistic, some AI was used to generate the photos of the characters. Logos and non-photo like materials are created by me.

The story, names, ideas, and writing is all my own.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game is intended for a mature audience. It contains dark and emotionally intense themes.

The story includes references to blood and injury, themes of bodily autonomy being compromised, and situations involving coercion and control. These elements are handled through implication and narrative rather than graphic depiction.

The game also explores themes of disappearance, psychological distress, and mortality, which some players may find unsettling.
