What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re launching QBased GORILLAS in Early Access because this is the best stage to shape the game with real player feedback. We want the community to help guide what we prioritize and refine—especially controls/feel, balance, performance, and quality-of-life improvements.

Our goals during Early Access are to:

tighten the core gameplay loop (aim, power, impact, turn flow)
balance destruction/weapons so matches feel fair and fun
expand the game with the features players are most excited about

We’re committed to continuing development through to full release with regular updates, patch notes, and active feedback-driven iteration.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 6 months (may shift depending on feedback and polish needs)”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include additional game modes, AI opponents, more weapons, more control/accessibility options, and ongoing polish and performance improvements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build is a turn based artillery game with voxel destruction. It currently includes:
Turn-based local hotseat battles (2–4 players take turns passing the controller/keyboard each turn)
No AI opponents yet
Classic artillery controls (angle + power)
Voxel-based terrain/building destruction that permanently changes the battlefield
Highly customizable, randomly generated worlds

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're not planning on changing the price when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll use community feedback to guide priorities like balance, control feel, modes, and new weapons. The best place to share feedback and bug reports is the Steam Discussions forum, and we’ll post progress updates and patch notes via Steam announcements.”

About This Game

QBased GORILLAS is a retro-inspired 3D turn-based artillery game built around fully destructible voxel buildings and couch-friendly competition.

Grab a friend and play local hotseat—no enemy AI, just you and other humans taking turns. From the rooftops, you’ll choose an angle, set your power, and compensate for wind to arc explosive bananas across the skyline. Every hit blows through buildings voxel-by-voxel, blasting holes in cover, collapsing rooftops, and turning “safe” perches into falling debris.

Each match takes place in a randomly generated, highly customizable city. Tweak the world size, the size and number of the building, and the terrain height and varition. Then, watch as your settings become a brand-new battlefield that gets wrecked in real time.

Outsmart your opponent by creating new lines of sight, removing their cover, and landing the shots that bring the whole building down.
