“Basement to the Sky is still an actively evolving project.
While the core idea of building and launching rockets is playable, many systems—such as progression balance, available activities, and pacing—are still subject to change.

Early Access allows development to continue alongside real player feedback.
During this period, I plan to observe how players interact with the game, identify which systems feel unclear or repetitive, and adjust mechanics and content accordingly.

This approach is especially important for a sandbox-style experience where player behavior can strongly influence future development decisions.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current estimate for Early Access is around 2 to 4 months, but this timeframe may change depending on development progress and feedback from the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, the game does not yet include all of the content and refinement intended for a full release.

Planned areas of improvement may include:

- Additional activities and progression options

- Further refinement of existing mechanics

- Balance adjustments based on player feedback

- General improvements to stability and usability

The exact scope of these changes is still being evaluated and may evolve throughout Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core gameplay loop of earning money, preparing food, building rockets, and launching them.

However, some systems are still limited in scope, and players may encounter bugs, balance issues, or incomplete features.

Content variety and progression pacing are areas that are actively being reviewed and adjusted during development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is not currently planned to change between Early Access and the full release.

As this is my first commercial game, I want to keep the price reasonable and accessible while development continues.”

“Player feedback will play a significant role throughout Early Access.

I plan to actively monitor:

Today is your birthday. Warm sunshine, perfect weather. Your parents are away for work, but they’ve left you a birthday gift — a rocket. Build your own rocket and launch it high into the sky. Cook delicious meals to fill your stomach, and earn money through part-time jobs to upgrade your rocket. Little by little, higher and farther. How far can your rocket go? Spend a special day that feels like stepping back into your childhood.

Assemble Your Rocket

From the nose cone to the body, fins, fuel, and nozzle, freely combine parts to create your own unique rocket. From water rockets to black powder rockets, solid fuel rockets, and hybrid fuel rockets, experiment with different types and discover the perfect combination.

Launch Your Rocket Into the Sky

Take the bus to an open field and launch the rocket you’ve built. Flight results change completely depending on your design choices. How far will your rocket fly? Aim beyond the sky and challenge yourself to reach space.

The Core of Combustion: Rocket Grains

Each rocket requires different types of grains, which you can craft yourself. Precision is key — if you’re not careful, the results may differ from what you expected.

Earn Money to Upgrade Your Rocket

Upgrading your rocket requires money. Earn income through part-time jobs, stock investments, or even running a video channel. How you make money is entirely up to you. Use your earnings to push your rocket higher and farther.

Home-Cooked Meals Taste the Best

Nothing beats a meal made with your own hands. Studies even suggest that good nutrition has a positive effect on the brain. Cooking and eating meals increases your Knowledge Level, allowing you to choose useful perks that enhance gameplay. You can also share food with neighbors or sell it to earn extra income.
