About This Game

NULLA VIA

Some places were never meant to be remembered.

Wassim is a young historian obsessed with the hidden scars left behind by World War II. During a trip with friends to isolated French war memorials and abandoned villages destroyed during the occupation, one of them jokingly photographs him using an old military camera obscura found among forgotten relics. The device should no longer function… yet the photograph develops anyway.

After returning home, Wassim begins suffering from terrifying nightmares that feel impossibly real. Each time he falls asleep, he is dragged into a distorted version of the past where shadowy figures roam ruined streets and horrific events replay endlessly in the darkness. He witnesses executions, disappearances, and atrocities committed by SS soldiers against civilians trapped inside the village during the war. Among the recurring visions are Marcel, a grieving villager driven mad after discovering his murdered family, and Leonarda, a woman whose final days became part of the town’s buried nightmare.

Every awakening leaves Wassim weaker, more exhausted, and increasingly disconnected from reality. Strange wartime objects begin appearing inside his apartment. Voices echo through empty rooms. The boundary between present and past slowly collapses. Unable to escape the visions, he turns to alcohol while desperately trying to understand why these memories are haunting him.

But the nightmares are not random.

The camera captured more than a photograph.

Long ago, before being executed, one of the victims was photographed by the same device moments after witnessing the massacre of his family. Since then, the camera has carried the final echoes of the dead, binding itself to anyone connected to the forgotten tragedy. Wassim eventually realizes he was not chosen to suffer… but to uncover the truth history buried.

Guided by visions and fragments of the past, Wassim returns to the real ruins of the village and discovers the hidden remains of the victims abandoned beneath the town for decades. By revealing their identities and bringing their story to light, he finally understands the purpose of the nightmares:

Some ghosts do not seek revenge.
They seek to be remembered.
