Climbers who die on the mountain always wake up and try again. Your father didn't. Ascend a mountain that's older and stranger than any legend told you. Slay its guardians. Devour their remains to take their power — or hold onto your humanity. The choice is yours. What it costs you isn't.

About This Game

The mountain has rules. Die on the slopes, and you wake up with a new body, ready to climb again. Climbers have built an entire culture around this — warriors who treat death as a setback and every attempt as training.

Your father broke the rule. The greatest Climber anyone had ever seen, he went up the mountain and never came back. Didn't respawn. Didn't return. Just stopped, in a way that isn't supposed to happen.

So you're going up.

THE LEGEND

At the summit, a god. Reach the top and you can wish for anything — that's what the legend says. The Climbers believe it. They've always believed it. Each beast they slay is a test worth passing, a gate worth opening.

Nobody asks what the mountain wants in return. Nobody asks why the beasts keep getting harder. Nobody asks what happens to the people who finally, actually reach the top.

Maybe they should have asked.

COMBAT

God Lies Above is a boss rush built around the satisfaction of reading an enemy completely. Each ascent puts you against a single guardian — a beast of the mountain that moves in patterns you can learn, parry, and punish.

You have a sword, a parry, and a dodge. Wear down a boss's posture, find the opening, and end it. When you do, the execution is everything it should be.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

When a boss falls, they leave something behind.

Harvest their materials to forge stronger weapons. Upgrade your blade. Climb on your own terms.

Or eat them.

Consuming a corpse is faster. It's stronger, immediately. Their power becomes your power — but every meal costs you a piece of your humanity. On a mountain that collects strong bodies, what you're becoming may matter more than how high you've climbed.

Reject your humanity enough times and you'll start to wonder whether the thing still moving toward the summit is really you.
