What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“BULLET CHAIN has already been made immeasurably better by the feedback I received post Act 1 release. This included additions such as extra animations, card and enemy reworks and several new HUD elements. I want to continue working with my players to improve the game more and more. I'm aiming to refine the core gameplay (gunplay, deckbuilding, horde-combat) in particular.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I hope finishing the game will take about a year from the Act 2 release. This means the game will likely leave Early Access in mid-late 2027 (September to December).

Act 1 took 6-8 months to develop (including revesions post release) and Act 2 has taken about 7 months to develop. The extended time frame for Act 3 is based on it's larger scale and intended revesions to other parts of the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the final release I plan to add a third and final act to the game, of a slightly larger scale than the first two acts. This act is intended to include a new stage, new cards, new bosses (both regular and secret), new enemies, new weapons and the conclusion to the game's story.

Additionally, some time before Act 3 is released, I plan to add a secret boss to Act 2 in a similar style to the secret boss from Act 1.

I also plan to generally polish the game, improving UI, giving additional visual flourish to cards, improving generation and redoing old weapons and enemies.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access game includes the first two acts of the game, including several procedurally generated stages, 6+ weapons, 10+ enemies, 3 bosses, 80+ cards and the first two thirds of the game's narrative.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to increase the price at the end of Early Access, I do not plan to raise the price with any additions made before then. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can reach out to me in several places, this includes my feedback email (listed in game), my development blog or the Steam Community Hub.

You can contact me anytime but please do be aware I am a solo developer, so there is a chance I will not respond directly to your message. Regardless, I will be working hard to implement your feedback.”
