Why Early Access?

“Kingforge is built around systems that interact with each other — villagers, jobs, resources, and the kingdom itself.

These systems are already working, but they need time, iteration, and real player feedback to reach their full potential.

Early Access lets us improve AI behavior, expand professions, and deepen the overall gameplay experience based on how players actually play the game.

We want to grow Kingforge together with the community and shape it into a truly living medieval sandbox experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Kingforge to remain in Early Access for around 12–18 months.

However, this may change depending on player feedback and how the game evolves. We want to take the time needed to properly expand and refine the core systems before moving to a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Kingforge is planned to build upon the current systems and expand the overall depth of the game over time.

We aim to improve villager AI, making them behave more intelligently and react more naturally to their environment.

We plan to expand the kingdom simulation with deeper economic systems over time, creating a more dynamic and interconnected world.

We are exploring features such as mod support, multiplayer and LAN play, as well as additional professions and gameplay systems.

The long-term goal is to evolve Kingforge into a living medieval sandbox where systems interact in meaningful ways.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version (v0.1) already includes the core gameplay systems of Kingforge.

You can build and manage your kingdom, assign villagers to roles, and experience the core gameplay loop of production, automation, and defense.

The game is fully playable and the main systems are stable, but some features are still being expanded and refined. Bugs or incomplete elements may occur as development continues.

We plan to keep improving performance, balance, and overall polish based on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as significant updates and new content are introduced during Early Access and beyond.

Players who join early will get the game at a lower price while supporting its development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is planned to play an active role in shaping Kingforge during Early Access.

We plan to gather feedback through Steam Discussions and player reports, while also observing how players interact with the game's systems.

This feedback will help guide gameplay balance changes, improvements to NPC behavior, and refinements to core systems such as the economy and job mechanics.

We may test and iterate on new features based on community response before expanding them further.

Our goal is to evolve the game based on real player experience, allowing the community to influence development decisions over time.”
