About This Game

From Nothing

From Nothing is a 2D survival-crafting RPG where you build systems, sustain life, and transform a dead world into a living one.

Stranded on a barren moon with limited resources and no clear way home, survival is only the beginning.

Gather materials, construct infrastructure, and create the systems needed not just to survive, but to make the world habitable.

What starts as a fragile foothold grows into a network of outposts, shaped by your decisions, your priorities, and your ability to keep everything running.

You were sent here with a purpose… but surviving long enough to fulfill it was never guaranteed.

A barren landscape with trails of footprints and a landing pod - the player character mines a block of ice.

Build From the Ground Up

Construction is physical, deliberate, and earned.

Plan structures, place them in the world, and deliver materials over time to bring them online, building them piece by piece.

As your presence expands, so does your capability:

  • Larger storage networks

  • Advanced fabrication systems

  • Infrastructure designed for long-term survival

Each structure becomes part of a larger system keeping you alive.

An early game scene with paths of footprints, one complete building, and several planned buildings - the player character interacts with a planned building interface.

Craft, Fabricate, and Progress

Progression is driven by interconnected systems.

Discover blueprints, fabricate components, and unlock multi-step production chains as your technology advances.

Resources feed into systems.
Systems feed into expansion.
Expansion reshapes the world.

A World That Changes Over Time

Time moves forward... whether you're ready or not.

  • Day and night cycles shift visibility and temperature

  • Seasonal changes impact survival conditions

  • Your actions gradually transform the environment

What begins as a lifeless surface becomes something shaped by your presence.

… but not all signs of human presence are new.

Scattered across the world are remnants of a long-forgotten accident, fragments of a human journey that was never meant to end here, and the consequences that were left behind.

Isolated… but Not Alone

You won’t stay alone forever.

New arrivals bring skills, needs, and opportunities:

  • Scientists

  • Engineers

  • Settlers

As the world becomes more habitable, small communities begin to form.

Your choices shape how these settlements grow:

  • Cooperation and stability

  • Or independence and self-reliance

An early settlement with several NPCs - two NPCs chat with each other.

Survival Without Combat Focus

From Nothing is about preparation, not reflexes.

The real threats are:

  • Failing life-support systems

  • Limited oxygen

  • Extreme temperature

Survival comes from planning, infrastructure, and problem-solving, not constant combat.

Survival gauges show several stats in danger - a red vignette borders the screen.
