Why Early Access?

“Guarded by the AI is being released in structured narrative phases. Episode 1 (The Xen Route) is a complete, polished story available at launch—fully voiced, visually cinematic, and ready to enjoy.

We’re using Early Access because this project is built like a romance series: each route unfolds with the same visual fidelity, voice acting, and narrative depth. Early Access allows us to deliver content sooner, gather feedback, and maintain the high production quality fans expect.

Players get to enjoy the story immediately, and upcoming routes—Nex and Poly—will arrive as major free updates.

EA gives us room to polish, expand, and refine with you alongside us.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our plan is to remain in Early Access for approximately 2–3 months.

Episode 2 (Nex Route): Targeting January

Episode 3 (Poly Finale): Targeting February

If polishing and voice acting require additional time, we will update the timeline—but our goal is to deliver both routes within the first quarter of the year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will feature three complete, distinct romance pathways:

Xen (The War Unit) — Fully playable and fully voiced in Early Access.

Nex (The Human-Form AI) — Coming in Update 1 (fully voiced).

The Poly/Throuple Finale — Coming in Update 2 (fully voiced).

When complete, the game will contain triple the narrative length and triple the total voice acting compared to the initial Early Access launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains a fully playable, polished first route: The Xen Path.
This includes:

Complete narrative arc for Xen

Full voice acting for all Xen scenes

High-fidelity character art and cinematic animations

Functional HUD overlays and environmental visual effects

Core game flow, UI, save/load, and accessibility settings

Early versions of the intimacy, emotional, and internal-monologue systems that the later routes will expand on

The game is stable and runs from beginning to end with no placeholders.
Future updates will add the Nex route and the Poly/Throuple finale, expanding the story and tripling total playtime.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will increase for the full release.

The Early Access version includes one complete romance route, and the full version will add two more major storylines (Nex and the Poly finale). Because the overall content will more than triple, the full release will be priced higher.

Players who buy during Early Access will receive all future updates and routes at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Most of my stories are built in conversation with my audience, and this game is no different. I’ll be listening closely to player reactions in the Steam forums and update threads, especially when it comes to pacing, UI polish, accessibility, and visual effects.

I’ll be posting devlogs as new chapters and romance paths get added so players can follow along—and if they want to chime in, I’ll be there reading.”
