Alchemist’s Arcana is a narrative puzzle game. You play as an alchemy apprentice who has returned home after years away, entrusted with managing a modest general store in place of your mentor. Armed with an alchemical grimoire, you learn the nature of unfamiliar instruments and apply hard-won knowledge to discern the true essence of countless objects brought before you.

Each visitor arrives with their own desires, doubts, and secrets. By serving them, you slowly piece together the quiet history of this seaside town—events that transpired long before your return, in a place that, to most of its inhabitants, is the entirety of their world.

Yet tread carefully.

Not all who dwell on this land welcome your presence…or your mentor.

In the forgotten corner of a dusty attic, you inherit a weathered scroll from your long-lost mentor. The paper, mercilessly crushed beneath the wheels of time, holds the forbidden knowledge that reveals the true essence of the world. But can you bear the crushing weight of this knowledge without repeating the fate of those who came before you? For the very secrets you now hold will fundamentally reshape humanity’s understanding of reality itself. Yet not everyone welcomes change… for the price of acceptance may be far too high.

With your inherited balance scale, droppers, and other aged brass instruments that barely still function, along with your own five senses, you may finally glimpse the true face of this land. Gold, silver, copper, iron… perhaps they were never the mythical substances of ancient legends. The day when the world’s genuine truth is laid bare draws near.

As a member of the Guild, you and your companions have been temporarily assigned to this remote place. Due to the division of duties during the mission, you are forbidden from leaving this house even for a single step. Your only connections to the outside world are your field operative partner and the intelligence he gathers… along with the local villagers who knock on the alchemist’s door each day, driven by their own afflictions and dark desires.

Using the scattered fragments of information obtained through your limited contact with the outside, you must gradually piece together the true story behind this assignment… and the conspiracy that shrouds everything.
