What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“It’ll be better for the game: the sooner you start playing, the faster your suggestions will be implemented! I personally love this model as a player, which is why I decided to go this route. I’m even planning to build not just a game, but a dedicated feedback system. In my mind, it works like a task tracker (the kind dev studios use): players create tasks like “bugs,” “improvements,” or “new features” they want to see, the community votes on them, and I implement the top-voted ones. Thanks to your active participation and feedback, I’ll be able to make a truly great game—because I’m not actually doing this alone. I’ve got you.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It’s hard to say exactly when Early Access will end. Based on similar projects from colleagues in the industry, it usually lasts quite a while—maybe centuries... Okay, fine, not centuries, but typically 2–4 years.
My goal is to deliver fully fleshed-out survival and detailed magic mechanics, a complete branching storyline, and a rich, beautiful world. If possible, I also want to add online multiplayer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version of SWOM, I plan to fix all critical bugs and issues found during Early Access. It will also feature more content and features than the current build. During Early Access, I aim to release updates fairly frequently, fixing bugs and adding new content: creatures, items, features, story elements, and world improvements. These might look like monthly devlogs paired with patches. I’m committed to quickly refining gameplay, squashing bugs, and polishing the experience—and your feedback will be crucial here. Feel free to message me directly with constructive feedback via my work accounts or email.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In SWOM, you’ll find several biomes, a storyline, and a handful of creatures, NPCs, and items. With each update, I plan to add more content: new creatures, items, and much more. What exactly will I add? I have a general roadmap in mind, but during Early Access, my top priority is to get the game out, steadily improve it, and listen to you.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Of course, the Early Access version will be cheaper than the full release. The price will go up once it leaves Early Access, so buying it now is the better deal. I remember buying a great game in 2013 during its Early Access phase for pennies, and now it’s one of Steam’s top concurrent players. Fun fact: that game spent a solid 5 years in Early Access!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I’m releasing the very first version of SWOM in Early Access. It won’t be perfect, and I’m inviting you to join the development process so the game becomes exactly what you want it to be. I’ll share my thoughts, plans, and progress across social media and Steam, and I’ll be upfront about mistakes—because let’s be honest, they’re inevitable. I’m also looking forward to your ideas and suggestions! I’ll definitely listen to them. In fact, even as I write this, I’ve already implemented many things based on your past feedback. Your opinion matters deeply—it will shape the future of SWOM.
During Early Access, I’m asking for your understanding and enthusiasm. If you’re ready to walk this path with me—and it might not always be smooth, occasionally bringing along some terrifying, mega-scary hurdles (I’m not trying to scare you, just being honest and keeping expectations grounded; but hey, forewarned is forearmed)—then I’d be thrilled to welcome you to the magical, survival-driven world of SWOM! For all the indies!”

About This Game

SWOM — a new narrative survival game with magic elements, created by a solo developer.

You find yourself in a strange, mystical world where you must survive harsh conditions.

Explore the Open World: Wander through dark forests, investigate ancient ruins, descend into mysterious caves, and uncover the secrets of diverse biomes.

You are alone in a completely new world. Every artifact you find is not just an item, but a fragment of your personal history: past, present, and future. Who left these symbols for you? Why?

Surprisingly, you don't remember how you ended up in this mystery-shrouded world, and you don't know who you are. But your body remembers:

  • How to start a fire to save yourself from paralyzing cold and soul-crushing hunger.

  • How to avoid threats from dangerous approaching creatures.

  • How to steady the trembling in your hands before drawing your first magical symbol.

Here, magic is not just a spell list. It flows within the earth; it must not be memorized, but felt intuitively. You do not repeat ancient formulas; you transform them, creating your own charms.

Your Primary Objectives:

  • Gathering: Search for food, water, plants radiating magical energy, valuable minerals, and other survival supplies.

  • Building & Crafting: Construct reliable shelters from wood and stone, craft tools, weapons, and armor to help you withstand dangers.

  • Survival Stats: Monitor your health, stamina, hunger, and thirst. Maintain optimal body temperature, especially at night when the cold becomes a serious trial.

SWOM World Features:

  • Dangerous Creatures: Various beings inhabit this land, some of which pose a threat to you.

  • Dynamic Weather: Unpredictable atmospheric phenomena create additional challenges.

  • Day and Night Cycle: Darkness in this environment brings a heightened sense of threat to life — it is best to stay in shelter during this time.

  • The Sinister Green Moon: Periodically appearing in the sky, it marks the arrival of "The Hardest Hour." When the ringing silence drives your fear of encounter to the limit, and the only sound remaining in this space is the ringing in your ears.

As you play, you will gain new skills, magic keys, and improve your gear — all of which will help you survive and get closer to the main mystery of this game.

Your shelter is not just a roof over your head. It is a support that gives you energy to move forward. Use everything you find. Protect your space with spells that you create yourself, combining basic magical forces.

SWOM has a storyline, but completing it is optional — you are free to choose your own path:

  • Some will build a house just to live and pass the time.

  • Some will go deep into the forest to find that very answer.

  • Some will wait until finally, some sound breaks through the silence.

SWOM is not just survival. It is a game about your destiny, hidden in the twilight of a mysterious world.

P.S. The game is developed by one person. The world is inspired by tundras. Everything in the game is the developer's fiction, not a reflection of his or your life in another Universe.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

I'm a solo developer making this game entirely on my own with a zero budget. Without AI, I would've gone mad creating such a massive project. It would've taken around 15 years just to reach Early Access.
To be completely transparent: during development, I may use AI tools to assist with content creation, primarily for routine tasks. However, everything is always manually reviewed and refined by me. The workflow is strictly: My work → AI → My work.
