Coming Soon To Early Access

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dungeon Flop is already fully playable, but the game’s strength comes from its large amount of content — items, classes, rooms, abilities, random events, and story modules. Early Access lets me gather real player feedback on balance, pacing, and difficulty while steadily expanding the amount of content in the game.

The core systems (combat, movement, AI, UI, story modules, abilities, items, travel system, inventory, progression) are already implemented. What I want from Early Access is time to refine the experience with the community and ensure the final version is fun, polished, and replayable”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My current estimate is 6–12 months. This window allows for new content drops, bug fixing, performance improvements, and balancing passes, without locking the project into a perpetual promise.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand the game with more content, more replay depth, and broader platform support.

My goals for 1.0 include:
-- More items, abilities, classes, and monsters to widen build variety and dungeon encounters.
-- New dungeon themes, rooms, traps, and stage-show events to keep runs fresh.
-- Localization into Chinese, French, German, and potentially more languages.
-- True local multiplayer, allowing players to dungeon-crawl together in couch-coop.
-- A complete hand-drawn art overhaul, replacing all AI-placeholder art with work from a hired artist.
-- Additional platform support, including Steam Deck optimization and the groundwork for potential console ports.

These are planned directions rather than strict promises, but they represent where I want to take Dungeon Flop as Early Access progresses toward a full release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Dungeon Flop is currently fully playable from start to finish with all core gameplay systems implemented, including:

-- Full combat system
-- Real-time-with-pause dungeon crawling
-- Procedural runs
-- Item generation, ability rolls, rarity logic
-- Class system with unlockable abilities
-- Travel, food, gold, and resource management
-- Inventory and equipment
-- Enemy AI and pathing
-- Story/Dialogue module engine
-- Main menu, UI, and audio system

Players can complete full dungeon runs, collect loot, build characters, and experience the full comedic roguelike gameplay loop. What’s missing is content volume, expanded variety, and final levels of polish, which will be added throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don’t plan to change the price during Early Access. The price may increase after Early Access if a significant amount of new content, classes, items, and features are added, but there are no firm plans at this time.

- My goal is simply to keep the game fairly priced.
- Money is tight enough for everyone, why make it worse.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will guide balance, pacing, new content, and overall quality-of-life improvements. I’ll be using the Steam forums and regular update posts to gather player input on items, abilities, dungeon rooms, story events, and general gameplay feel. Players will be able to share suggestions, report issues, and help determine which features and content should be prioritized in future updates.

- If you have ideas, I'll listen to them!”

About This Game

Dungeon Flop is a Real-Time-with-Pause tactical RPG where dungeon crawling meets disastrous theater. Lead a troupe of chaotic heroes through procedurally generated dungeons, bursting with monsters, traps, treasure, and bad acting.

🎭 Command the cast.

Pause the action to issue precise orders, then watch the chaos unfold in real time as your questionable heroes do their best (or worst).

⚔️ Crawl, kick, and loot.

Smash doors, plunder chests, and collect powerful loot to keep the adventure rolling. Every run offers new gear, party synergies, and unpredictable encounters.

🧙 Manage the troupe.

Balance inventories, gear rarities, and deep ability interactions. Heroes age over time — recruit fresh talent as your veterans grow weary or weird.

💬 Deal with the drama.

Between expeditions, navigate the party’s egos, creature complaints, and backstage politics in visual-novel-style story scenes. Choices shape fates, unlock storylines, and determine whether the final curtain call ends in triumph or total flop.

If you love party management, tactical combat, procedural chaos, and comedic storytelling, it’s time to take the stage — and probably regret it.
