What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to involve players while the core football management and match systems are still being expanded and balanced. The game is already in a playable shape but EA will help to improve the match flow, content design such as tactics, build variability, progression balance, UI clarity and overall feel based on feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Current plan is to stay in early access until late 2026 or early 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include more complete balancing, improved match presentation, expanded tactical and team management, additional polish, bug fixes and QOL improvements. Taking player's feedbacks into consideration.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It includes a core playable football management experience, including match system, team/tactical decisions on and off the pitch. Some features, presentation, UI feel are still in development. Players should expect frequent updates during EA.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, it is not planned currently.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“With a dedicated Discord server + community forums.”

About This Game

About Offside Deal

Give your team its own identity, watch your tactics come alive on matchday and manage the victories, setbacks and ego clashes that follow.

Offside Deal is a tactical football management game about the decisions that shape a team.

Choose your formation, assign player roles, prepare for the next opponent and decide how you want your side to play. Once the match begins, your plan is put to the test. You can react to events from the touchline, adjust your approach and take on short-term objectives that influence how the game unfolds. You can shape the plan, but your players still have to execute it.

Build a Team That Fits Together

The best eleven players do not always make the best team.

Every player brings different attributes, preferred roles, form and personality. A great finisher still needs someone to create the chance. A talented midfielder can struggle in the wrong position. An ordinary player might become essential because they fit perfectly into your system.

Squad chemistry matters too. Strong relationships can help players get the best out of each other when it counts, while tension between teammates can make important moments less reliable.

You need to decide whether to build around your best individuals or create a team that works as a unit.

Find Your Way to Play

Your team's identity is shaped by two connected layers.

The first is your formation and the roles you assign. This determines your team's structure and the positions where your players operate.

The second is your collection of tactical styles. These styles determine how your team approaches particular situations. You might defend deep, attack through midfield, target a powerful finisher or commit more players forward when chasing a result.

Tactical styles are not simple passive bonuses. They let you turn the strengths of your squad into a match plan. A strong Target Man can become the focal point of a direct attacking system. With a group of players with high physical attributes you may create a high-pressing machine, while disciplined defenders and holding midfielders can give you the foundation for absorbing pressure and striking on the counter.

This connects squad building directly to deck building. Signing a new player can open up a completely different tactical direction, while finding a powerful style may change the kind of player you want to recruit. Choose styles that suit your squad, combine effects that support the same plan and build a system your players can bring to life.

Make Decisions from the Touchline

A good plan will not survive every match unchanged.

You can switch mentality, make substitutions and respond to situations that you encounter during matches. Manager decisions may offer an immediate benefit, set an objective for the next few events or force you to choose between two imperfect options.

Do you keep trusting the system? Do you protect a lead? Do you replace your best but tired finisher or leave him on the pitch in case he delivers a last minute tap-in?

Sometimes the right decision works. Sometimes football has other ideas.

Manage More Than the Match

Results follow your players back into the dressing room.

Morale can rise and fall. Egos can grow after strong performances. Loyalty can be tested, relationships can deteriorate and rivalries can become personal. Players may come to you with problems that cannot be solved by changing the formation.

You will not keep everyone happy. Supporting one player may frustrate another and avoiding a difficult conversation may escalate the problem.

Improve the Club Between Fixtures

Between fixtures, decide where your budget is needed most. Invest in club facilities, sign players discovered through scout reports and packs or improve your existing squad through training. When ordinary preparation is not enough, you may also turn to more drastic ways of gaining an advantage.

Meet Expectations

The board sets expectations at the beginning of each season and gives you an additional objective to pursue. Results, league position and your progress towards those goals affect their confidence in you.

Sponsors offer more ways to earn money through match objectives and longer commitments. Their rewards can help transform the club, but only if you deliver what you promised.

Fight for promotion, avoid relegation and try to build something that can survive across multiple seasons. If the results do not go your way and the board loses faith, your time at the club may come to an early end.

Find Your Own Way to Success

Football rarely offers one correct answer. What works with one squad may be completely wrong for another.

Success comes from recognising what your players can do, building around their strengths and adapting when circumstances change. There is no perfect system, only one that works for your squad, your next opponent and the moment you find yourself in.
