What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want players involved while S.N.A.P. continues to grow. The main ride and core loop are already playable, and Early Access lets us fine-tune scares, tension, pacing, and balance with real feedback while we explore new content and expand the experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect to remain in Early Access for around 18 months, though this may change depending on development pace, community feedback, and how the game evolves.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our current plan for the full version is to expand the core experience with additional content, features, and refinements based on community feedback during Early Access.

♦ A Story Mode with new scenes and narrative elements

♦ Additional gameplay modes (themed hunts, seasonal modes, difficulty options, etc.)

♦ More scares, anomalies, and cursed objects

♦ Potential ride bifurcations or additional rooms

♦ Further polish to visuals, lighting, audio, performance, and balancing

These goals may evolve as we gather feedback from players, and the final version may differ from what is described here.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the full ride, all three loops, randomized object hunts, scares, anomalies, and complete cart and camera mechanics. Runs last about 15–20 minutes. The game is stable and fully playable, though bugs and balancing issues may still occur.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to launch at a lower price during Early Access. As the game grows and new content is added, we expect the price to increase, with advance notice given before any changes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll involve the community throughout development using Steam Discussions. A beta branch will allow players to test upcoming features early, and community feedback may influence future content, balance, and design decisions.”

About This Game

S.N.A.P.
is a first-person run-based survival horror and hidden-object investigation set inside a rotting roadside dark ride built by a cannibal carnival family.

Your job is to track, identify, and photograph cursed objects, each holding the soul of a mutilated victim trapped inside the ride.

Strapped into a creaking cart, you push through the family’s slaughterhouse-turned-attraction in three deadly loops.

The route is fixed, but every run is randomized: object lists, scares, animatronics, entities, and anomalies all shift. No two attempts are the same. This isn’t a scripted haunted house, it’s a roguelite-structured horror experience that rebuilds itself every time you enter.

A full run lasts 15–20 minutes, but the danger changes constantly. Some props twitch. Some bodies move. Some animatronics just watch. Others climb aboard.

The fused remains of the cannibal family stalk you relentlessly, reacting to your movement, your mistakes, and your camera.

Your tools are: a dying headlight, a janky speed lever, a horn that won’t save you, and a camera that neutralizes cursed objects only if you frame them perfectly. Miss a shot, hesitate for a second, or misread the room and the house will kill you.

Slowing down might save you — or lure something to your cart. Speeding up might get you out of a room — or straight into an ambush.

Find every object. Free every soul. Survive all three loops.

The ride is alive. It remembers you.

And it hates being seen.

FEATURES

  • Run-Based Survival Horror: Fast, replayable 15–20 minute attempts built around escalating tension and randomized threats.

  • Hidden-Object Investigation: Hunt for cursed items using a paranormal camera that neutralizes them only when perfectly framed.

  • Dynamic Horror System: Props shift, entities stalk, animatronics react, and environmental anomalies change with every run.

  • Instant-Death Encounters: Unforgiving, high-pressure situations where hesitation or misreading a room means you're dead.

  • Rogue-lite Structure: New object lists, new placements, and new dangers each time you start a run.

  • Survival Mechanics: Control speed, toggle lights, rotate 180°, use the horn, and restart the cart when it stalls.

  • Photography-Based: Your only defense is precision. Wrong shots or sloppy framing provoke lethal consequences.

  • Hard R-Rated Grindhouse Tone: Gore, body horror, cannibal lore, and violent animatronic predators.

  • Minimalist Oppressive Soundtrack: Low, grinding ambience that emphasizes dread and constant surveillance.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

S.N.A.P. is a grindhouse-style horror game that contains extremely graphic violence and gore throughout. Players will encounter frequent scenes of brutal violence, including intense bloodshed, dismemberment, decapitation, and bodily mutilation. The game features disturbing imagery such as mutilated corpses, severed limbs, gore-splattered environments, and even instances of cannibalism. There are also scenes of torture and sadistic murder depicted in unsettling detail. Many moments are designed to shock and disturb the player, contributing to a relentless atmosphere of psychological horror in addition to the physical gore.

Important: While the violence is extreme, there is no sexual content or sexual violence in S.N.A.P. The game does not depict any harm to children, nor does it include any instances of rape or sexual abuse. All mature content is related strictly to violence and horror.
