What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“For me, Early Access is an essential step to gather real feedback from players and shape Genetica together with the community. I want to involve players early, refine the game based on their experience, and build a passionate community long before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Genetica will remain in Early Access until its key systems are fully polished and refined, with development guided by community feedback and player experience.
I expect the full release to happen around the second quarter of 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Genetica is evolving toward its full release with the introduction of multiplayer featuring two exciting modes: 4-player free-for-all and 2v2 duos.
Predators are being developed to join the ecosystem, adding new layers of danger and strategy that could shift how species interact and survive.
I am also exploring ways to enhance territorial control and bring in more varied weather effects, aiming to make each ecosystem feel even more dynamic and unpredictable.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At this stage, the Early Access version of Genetica already brings the core vision to life:
• Dynamic and dangerous weather systems that affect specific regions of the map.
• Weekly rotating game scenarios that keep gameplay fresh.
• Intelligent AI-driven populations that adapt to the environment.
• Diverse survival strategies unique to each species.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At this point, I’m not planning to change the game’s pricing or distribution model after leaving Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the game’s Discord community, I plan to actively involve players in development by hosting votes for new content, running polls, gathering feedback, and discussing gameplay ideas directly with the community.”

About This Game

Seize control over an entire species and shape its destiny!

In Genetica: Extinction, you are a researcher conducting experiments inside a closed artificial ecosystem. Your task is to observe, manipulate, and guide a population of creatures as they struggle to survive in an ever-changing environment.

Your goal is simple - prevent total extinction. The ecosystem reacts to every decision you make. Hunger, predators, and climate shifts will constantly test the limits of evolution.

The Core Idea

Every creature within your simulation lives, eats, fights, and dies. The world you oversee is volatile and unforgiving; sudden storms, predators, disease, or even competition between herbivores can alter the balance at any moment.

Manage population growth, secure food, and direct the evolution of your species before nature reclaims control. Every experiment adds a new layer to the story of survival!

Genetic System

Adaptive Evolution

Throughout each experiment, you can activate various genes that influence behavior and survival traits such as speed, stamina, thermal resistance, aggression, and more. The right genetic balance determines whether your creation thrives or vanishes.

Special Genes

Before each simulation begins, select three special genes, powerful abilities that can be triggered in critical moments. Use them to shift the outcome of your experiment when extinction seems inevitable.

• Species Diversity

The ecosystem hosts several unique species, each designed with distinct genetics, strengths, and limitations.

Some evolve faster, others depend on defense or cooperation, while a few embrace aggression. Understanding their traits is key to controlling the evolutionary process.

A Living Ecosystem

The world of Genetica: Extinction is alive, and it reacts to you.

• Weather and temperature influence survival and food availability.

• Habitats decay and force migration or adaptation.

• A single incorrectly chosen gene can end an entire population.

Nothing in this environment stands still. Whether you interfere or simply observe, the ecosystem will continue to evolve on its own.

Strategy and Choice

There is no predefined outcome. As a researcher, you decide how your experiment develops:

• A slow, resilient species that endures everything.

• A fast, aggressive population that burns bright and short.

• Or a balanced creation that adapts to any threat.

Each generation yields materials for expanding your gene tool set. Test theories, combine traits, and climb to the top of the weekly research leaders!
