"A Novel Published in 16 Bits! Spanish indie isekai, adapted by the author to Mega Drive. Linear visual novel blending satire on RPGs and the isekai genre, where two Spanish soldiers are transported—along with a Leopard 2 tank—into what appears to be a medieval fantasy role-playing game session."

About This Game

PANZER DK - STEAM STORE DESCRIPTION (English)

DEMO COMING SOON (Early December 2025)

"I'll make my own Isekai! With blackjack! And hookers!"

Tired of stepping into the shoes of anime protagonists and feeling like there's way too much drama for nonsense that "a good backhand slap in time" or a bottle of wine (per person) would have solved?

Do you get homicidal urges every time there's a chance for some smut, but the protagonists use flimsy excuses to decline mating offers from females (and males) who are begging to be banged like a screen door in a hurricane, aiming for an epic breeding ending?

If you get robbed or stabbed, do you think the perpetrators should be informed that their behavior is "uncomfortable and undesirable," or do you prefer re-educating them by crafting a friendly beer mug out of their skulls?

These were the thoughts behind writing the novel this game adapts (oh, right... and wondering what a fantasy battle with an MG42 would look like... although that part is just pure porn).

If RPGs Were Realistic

Things no one remembers until shit hits the fan:

  • Are potions meant to be mixed with food or taken neat? Do they cause constipation, drowsiness, or will they explode if mixed?

Maybe you should be diplomatic:

  • What happens if villagers have to kill monsters every day just to survive? Imagine if that XP was actually logged on a character sheet?

It looked easy on YouTube, now it's all laughs:

  • Do you know how easy it is to trip over corpses while raiding a place? What happens if two bandits and two protagonists get separated in a dark house? Friendly fire?

The Protagonists

[Self-Insert Here]
Captain of the Spanish Army, expert in operating the Leopard 2E Main Battle Tank, with diplomatic training. Old-school geek and hardcore otaku. He brings the sanity that keeps the group functional.

Waifu
Soldier and the Captain's battle buddy. Raised in a rural environment on the verge of CPS intervention, by an extremely unconventional family. A geek and otaku aware of her attractiveness, which she doesn't hesitate to use to cover her insecurities and seek social validation. The freedom of the new world "breaks" some limiters inside her.

Tank
Leopard 2E Weapon System, "Made in Germany". Conquers countries in exchange for fuel and ammo, though its excellent genetics and lovely lines will conquer your heart with overwhelming firepower, protection, and mobility. Designed by and for war; third time's the charm.

References

There are many, and they aren't hidden (anime, games, tabletop sessions, and occasionally—and legally—under the effects of hallucinations from mixing expired meds and alcohol, some situations vaguely similar to real events). Nothing new is invented here, it's just told differently.

Technical Features (The Retro Flex)

810 Pages on 1 Mega Drive Cartridge
2 Volumes adapted from the novel with white backgrounds and monochromatic text, converted into a 100% Retro anime visual style.

Over 200 Backgrounds to immerse yourself in dozens of locations
Most are pre-rendered in UNREAL ENGINE 5 and painstakingly adapted to 16 colors and 320x224 pixels. It doesn't matter what GPU you have; you'll feel the Unreal experience at a rock-solid 60 fps.

3 Main Characters with a variety of pixel-by-pixel drawn expressions
Army field uniform, tracksuits, no clothes... No expense has been spared so you can see them well-represented in the adventure.

OST CHIPTUNE
Original Soundtrack 100% performed by the legendary Yamaha YM2612 chip and sound effects by its partner, the SN76489. No samples here; we feed them the sheet music so the chips can work their magic.

YOU DON'T NEED TO SAVE (You can't, anyway)

On the Mega Drive, hardly any cartridges had batteries, and they reduced available space. Since this is a novel, the page number is visible at all times, with a selector in the main menu. Write down the page number and resume the adventure anytime, or skip pages to spoil yourself. Your book, your rules.

(Note: You also have a quick save system in the emulator).

No cheats, you're going back to the 90s (literally, if you wanted to). This is the digital edition of a physical cartridge created in 2025 for a 1988 console. What you install on Steam is a Mega Drive emulator + ROM in its directory.

  • You can load that ROM in another emulator like RetroArch (free on Steam), on mobile (e.g., EmuMD XL), or on your real Mega Drive if you have a flash cart.

  • The native resolution is 320 x 224 pixels. Using a CRT simulator shader is recommended to smooth out those knife-sharp edges.

REMEMBER: It is a LINEAR VISUAL NOVEL. THERE ARE NO CHOICES.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

"This is an author's project to adapt a novel into a visual format. The text is 100% human-written (and imperfect), while AI has been utilized as a tool for:

Creating native Mega Drive code:
Directed by human instruction and supported by specific documentation and techniques. The entire logic loop has been planned by a human; the console has very limited resources, so there is no 'make me a game' button. Instead, it requires: 'The engine will draw an image named BG_X on Plane B first, then three 96x96 pixel images at mid-height separated by 2 columns. Each will be assigned a specific color palette, with the text font sharing the BG_X palette' (followed by many debugging cycles interpreting bugs).

I have also spared you the technical jargon about how C pointers and data structures work in this simplified explanation. If you don't know how to program, you will have to learn to do this no matter how much AI you use (And you won't achieve the epic results of human programmers with galaxy brains, and neither will I).

Images / Art:
AI generated the base art for characters and some backgrounds using templates. These were then heavily redrawn and processed using Pixelover (for palette quantization and rescaling) and Aseprite (extensively edited by hand).
Images of the tank and certain scenarios are rendered in Unreal Engine 5, then stylized via AI before undergoing the conversion process to low-resolution pixel art."
