About This Game

Autophobia Logo

New York City - Autumn, 1958.

The loss of her parents at an early age came and left young Gabrielle Cross with a future of mental turmoil. Now midway through her teens, she has begun to experience the world in an unfamiliar way—filled with the overwhelming feeling that something is watching over her every move. Whether an omnipresent shadowy figure in the corner of the room, disembodied eyes glaring from just out of view, or voices when it seems nobody else is in sight, every day becomes more uncertain. Stranded within a broken mind, she is the only one who can determine the legitimacy or her own senses.

In this point-and-click story, the choices you make not only affect the way others think of you, but the way you think of yourself as well. Juggling high school, psychosis, and romance all at once is a difficult feat. One slip up, and you might find yourself with another haunting memory. Failure to deal with your emotions will cause increasingly distressing psychotic symptoms. Are these sights and sounds real, or is it all in your head?

Gabrielle Cross. Female, 16 years old, 161 centimeters tall, 47kg. A moody introvert. Orphaned at a young age, poor mental health has altered the way she perceives the world around her. She's happiest while at the side of her childhood friend, Edwin, or losing herself in a good book. Although she can come off as snarky, she really just wants to be normal.Edwin Covington. Male, 17 years old, 180 centimeters tall, 63 kg. A laid-back nerd. His family expects highly of him, but he tends to take things at his own speed instead. Generally well-mannered, he always stands up for those he loves. Sometimes his presence in a room feels almost... fuzzy.
