What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access for "Bridge Orders — Outrim: The Unseen Enemy" because we believe the experience of “synthesizing information on the bridge and issuing orders against an unseen enemy” is best refined with real player feedback.
First, we want players to get hands-on with the core mechanics and help us evaluate them. At the same time, we plan to take community ideas into account as we work on improving the game and evolving it into an even more engaging experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect the Early Access period to last about six months, though this may change based on progress and player feedback.
During this time, we plan to add more episodes and continue polishing key features. Our aim is to release Version 1.0 once we feel the full experience can be played from start to finish, but these plans may change depending on development circumstances.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, we plan to add additional episodes so that the story can be played through to its conclusion.
Our goal is to continue polishing the overall experience — from UI and presentation to balance and accessibility — and to keep improving stability and performance.
We also plan to use feedback from Early Access to guide further adjustments and possible new features. These plans may change depending on development circumstances.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current Early Access build, you can play Episodes 1–3 of the planned 10.
The core bridge-command experience—synthesizing information and issuing orders—is already enjoyable.
As we add new story content, we plan one or two major updates, and aim to ship all 10 main episodes along with several side stories.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During Early Access, we currently plan to gradually increase the price at the time of one or two major updates that add new episodes. We intend to announce any price changes in advance, but these plans may change depending on development circumstances.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“During development, we plan to work closely with the community via the Steam forums and Discord.
We intend to regularly review and consolidate suggestions, bug reports, and improvement ideas from both channels, and plan to share our responses in developer notes.
On Discord, you’ll be able to opt into the Playtester role (“Quality Assistant”) to post bug reports, suggestions, and impressions in role-limited forums.
We’re excited about the opportunity to refine Bridge Orders together with you.
Please note: The Discord invite link and playtest instructions are planned to be announced on the store page and forums once they are ready.”

About This Game

Bridge Orders — Outrim: The Unseen Enemy is a single-player, bridge-focused sci-fi strategy game where you move your fleet by “Observation → Judgment → Command” instead of piloting ships directly.

Gameplay

You don’t steer the ship yourself in Bridge Orders. Instead, you sit on the bridge, receive reports from your officers, and repeat a cycle of Observation → Judgment → Command.

You are not the one pulling the trigger — you are the one who decides what should be targeted and when, as a commanding officer.

Playtime

Depending on how you play, the current version offers roughly 30 minutes of playtime.

Story

In a remote garrison on the edge of the Galactic Peace Federation Aurelia Concordia, a series of impossible battleship sinkings has occurred.

Mu Griffith, a quantum physicist and radar researcher, is promoted to captain after demonstrating the effectiveness of Quantum Interference Waves (QIW) during Operation AO.

Together with QIW radar operator Remy Kirishima, executive officer Riley Drake, operations officer Rio Rutherford, ship operator Philip Liu, medical officer Michaela Bernard, and the rest of the crew, you pursue the true nature of this unseen enemy and the hidden truth behind the incidents.

Battleship Upgrades

There is no traditional character level-up system, but as the story progresses you are given access to stronger battleships and more powerful weapons.

Your growing firepower lets you try different approaches to each engagement as the campaign advances.

Caring for Remy

At present, Remy Kirishima is the only person who can operate the QIW radar. If you push her too hard, you won’t be able to make full use of QIW, and reliably tracking enemy ships will become difficult.

How much you push her, and how much you protect her, is another part of your struggle as captain.

What’s Included in the Current Early Access Version

In the current Early Access version, you can play Episodes 1–3 of a story campaign that is currently planned to span around 10 episodes.

You’ll experience a story-focused single-player campaign covering your deployment to the Outrim sector and your first encounters with the “Phantom Fleet.”

Each mission lets you enjoy the core bridge-command loop: reading sensor data and officer reports, choosing commands, and advancing the battle as a commander rather than a pilot.

We currently plan to add further episodes and to keep improving UI, balance, accessibility, stability, and performance based on player feedback, but these plans may change depending on development progress and what we learn during Early Access.
