A word from the Dev

I made this game as a solo developer because I missed a certain kind of experience - games that draw you in with their easy accessibility, let you jump straight in, fully immersed from the first moment.

The motivation comes from pure nostalgia - the feeling from back then, when games were simple, perfectly handcrafted and with complete absence of today’s industry slop.

Side Whoop's core is all about flow. Controls being deliberately simple - smooth and slick movement that is perfectly complemented by the soundtrack.

Heavily inspired by 90s arcade, skating, and snowboarding titles, it blends style, attitude, and confidence into every run.

A game that’s meant to be felt, focused on the experience and without distractions or over-complications.

This is the realization of a long-held dream after having worked for a decade in AAA and teaching game development. A chance to make something entirely on my own terms, without outside pressure shaping the design.

Side Whoop is the culmination of a personal journey, finally creating a game exactly the way I’ve always imagined it.
