About This Game

Four commands. Four hero archetypes. Countless combinations.

For players who love turn-based tactics, party-building RPGs and permadeath. Memories of Tacticians is a tactics RPG on a small 8x8 board where you plan every move, grow a team you care about, and live with what happens. Wishlist to follow the journey. A free demo is coming soon.

• Four shared commands: any hero can spend them, and the monsters get the same four.

• Heroes you build: five upgrades each, and some change how a hero moves.

• Fights made for your team: swarms, ambushes and champions built around your party.

WOUNDS STAY AND THE FALLEN STAY FALLEN

Hit points carry into the next fight. After each victory you pick one of three rewards: patch up the party, grow a hero, or sometimes recruit a new one. Winning without losing anyone is its own prize.

ONE PARTY AND FOUR COMMANDS

Every move and attack costs one command, and any hero can spend them. Send the Duelist in four times to finish a kill, or spread them so the Guardian covers the Prophet. The monsters get the same four.

EVERY HERO HITS THE BOARD IN THEIR OWN WAY

Before you commit, the board lights up exactly where a hero can go and where it can strike.

• Guardian: one step in any direction, and the most Block. Holds the line.

• Duelist: dashes up to two squares in any direction to reach the one target you need dead.

• Sharpshooter: shoots along straight lines, up to four squares away.

• Prophet: strikes along diagonals, up to three squares. The most fragile hero.

THE DICE DECIDE HOW HARD, NEVER IF

Attacks always land. Your damage roll is set against the target's Block roll, so plan around the numbers, not a miss chance.

FORGE YOUR TACTICIANS

Every hero has four paths, Body, Mind, Heart and Soul, and room for only five upgrades. Some upgrades rewrite how a hero moves: three on Mind and the Guardian charges up to three squares in any direction. Respec freely before every fight.

EVERY FIGHT IS BUILT AROUND YOUR PARTY

Skirmishes, swarms, artillery lines, ambushes and champions are generated from the party you bring. The monsters play to win: they focus wounded heroes and fall back when you threaten a kill.
