What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Botwave: Overclock is a system-driven roguelike survival game where balance, pacing, and difficulty scaling are a big part of the experience. Early Access allows me to release a solid playable version while continuing to improve the game based on real player feedback.

I want the community to help shape things like progression pacing, weapon/item balance, and overall run variety as the game grows with more content and updates.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Botwave: Overclock to remain in Early Access for around 6–12 months, depending on feedback and development progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include more overall content and variety compared to Early Access, such as:

Additional waves and enemy types

More bosses and encounter variety

More playable characters and build options

Expanded meta-progression and unlocks

More upgrades, items, and progression depth

Ongoing improvements to balance, UI, and overall polish

The goal is for the full release to feel like a larger, more complete experience with more replayability and long-term progression.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and includes the core gameplay loop: surviving waves of enemies, building your loadout, and using the Overclock + Heat risk/reward systems to push your build further.

It already contains multiple upgrades and progression mechanics, and it will continue to receive updates focused on:

Content expansion (enemies, waves, bosses, and characters)

Balance tuning and difficulty pacing

UI/UX improvements and quality-of-life updates

Bug fixes and performance optimization”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I'm not planning on changing the price during Early Access. I may increase the price after Early Access as major content and features are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be a big part of development during Early Access. I plan to gather feedback through:

Steam Community discussions and comments

Player suggestions and bug reports

Regular updates with patch notes and balance changes

Iterating on gameplay pacing, difficulty, and progression based on player experience

I’ll be actively reading feedback and using it to guide updates and improvements throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

YOUR MACHINE HAS A LIMITER. HOLD THE THROTTLE DOWN ANYWAY.

Botwave is a fast arena Roguelite where the big question isn't what to shoot, it's how hard you're willing to push. Kick your machine into Overdrive and it runs way past its specs. Push too far and it locks up mid-wave, right when the swarm is thickest. Stay cool and you survive. Get greedy and you get burned (but sometimes greedy wins).

Your weapons fire on their own. You choose the loadout, move around the arena, and keep an eye on the heat.

How a run plays out

  • Fight through 20 increasingly nasty waves of rogue bots. Runs are short, about 20 to 30 minutes.

  • Every cleared wave gives you an upgrade to pick. You also earn XP as you go, which levels you up mid-run and opens higher weapon and upgrade tiers.

  • Weapon crates drop during waves. Grab a new gun for one of your 4 slots, or merge duplicates to climb the tiers, all the way up to Tier 5.

  • The Heat Gamble: Overdrive boosts everything you do, from raw damage to crowd control, but heat keeps building the entire time. Ride the redline for maximum output, vent early to stay safe, or get hit with a Thermal Lock that shuts you down at the worst possible moment.

And there's more

  • 24 weapons: 18 ranged and 6 melee, with blades that swing and thrust exactly where the edge is.

  • 60+ stackable upgrades across 5 tiers. Crit, control, speed, glass cannon: build your own way to fail spectacularly.

  • 7 heat levels: beat a run to unlock the next, deadlier roster.

  • Keyboard and gamepad support, with full English and Arabic localization.

Built to keep growing. Botwave is a living project from a solo developer. Expect regular free updates with new weapons, upgrades, and heat levels, shaped by what players tell me they want.
