“Early Access allows us to develop Papered together with the community. Because the gameplay focuses heavily on fast combat, enemy behavior, and chaotic arena encounters, player feedback is extremely valuable to help balance mechanics, improve the feel of combat, and expand the game with features players enjoy most.”

“The game is planned to remain in Early Access for around 6–12 months, depending on development progress and community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will include more arenas, additional enemy types, new weapons and abilities, improved progression systems, and further polish across gameplay, visuals, and performance. We also plan to expand enemy behaviors and add more chaotic combat scenarios.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes the core gameplay experience: fast-paced arena combat, multiple enemies, weapons, and a progression system where players collect fragments from defeated enemies to upgrade their abilities during a run.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The game will likely be priced slightly lower during Early Access as a way to thank early supporters. The price may increase as more content and features are added toward the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

About This Game

Papered is a fast-paced first-person arena hack-and-slash set inside a living sketchbook. In a world made entirely of paper and ink, drawings come to life — and you’re the one cutting them down.

Fight through chaotic arenas where enemies are printed, sketched, and assembled from paper. Slice them apart with scissors, tear through them with your blade, and splatter the world with ink as the battlefield slowly fills with color.

Every enemy you defeat bursts into paper fragments. Collect them, upgrade your weapons, and push your build further as the arena fills with increasingly dangerous foes. But beware: the world fights back. Enemies evolve, printers churn out reinforcements, and the chaos grows with every minute you survive.

The longer you last, the more intense the fight becomes.
