About This Game

MineEngineer is 2D space survival sandbox game—a unique fusion of engineering, survival, and planetary exploration.

You begin alone in the depths of space, armed with only basic tools and your will to survive. But this isn’t just a story of survival among asteroids. It’s also about venturing down to hostile planetary surfaces, unearthing rare resources, battling the elements, and building the infrastructure to thrive both in orbit and on solid ground.

In this ever-expanding universe, you’ll mine asteroids, refine raw ores into powerful materials, craft advanced machinery, and construct everything from simple solar panels to fully functioning planetary bases and spacecraft. The world is open, the possibilities are vast—and every choice you make shapes your path forward.

The MineEngineer is set in a procedurally generated solar system, full of dynamic and diverse environments. This system includes:

  • 🪐 Planets with varying sizes, biomes, and challenges

  • ☄️ Asteroids, both small and massive, drifting through space

  • 🌞 A central sun providing solar energy and light cycles

  • 🧲 Gravity fields on large asteroids and planetary bodies

  • 💎 A wide range of unique ores, each with specific properties, uses, and rarity levels

Exploration is key. Each celestial body has different combinations and concentrations of resources. The deeper you go—or the more daring your journey—the rarer and more valuable the ores you’ll uncover.

In MineEngineer, every structure you create—whether a deep-space outpost or a mobile scout ship—is built using a grid system. This system gives you full control to place, connect, and power functional blocks together into fully interactive constructs.

There are two main grid types in the game:

🏠 Bases (Static Grids)

Bases are static, non-moving structures anchored to terrain—be it an asteroid, planet, or artificial platform. These are your homes, refineries, factories, or defense towers. They are easier to build and maintain due to their fixed position and stability.

Use bases for:

  • Long-term storage

  • Large-scale refining or production

  • Power generation (solar, nuclear)

  • Planet-side or asteroid mining stations

  • Safe zones to recover and plan

🚀 Ships (Dynamic Grids)

Ships are movable constructions powered by thrusters and gyroscopes. They can be used to travel between planets, haul cargo, mine in space, or engage in combat.

Use ships for:

  • Transporting materials and items

  • Space exploration and scouting

  • Combat and tactical engagements

  • Mobile crafting and repair

Ships are harder to build and maintain—but their freedom opens endless possibilities.

To survive and progress in MineEngineer, you'll need to master the full cycle of gathering resources, refining materials, and crafting blocks. The game is designed around a system of progression through material rarity, block complexity, and engineering depth.

⚙️ Engineering Loop

  • Mine ores from asteroids or planets

  • Refine them into ingots at a refinery

  • Assemble materials from ingots

  • Weld blocks using materials and a powered backpack

  • Build bases and ships with electricity, oxygen, and fuel systems integrated
