Why Early Access?

“I want to get real player feedback on the core co-op loop (two-layer arenas, shared economy, four classes) and on the meta progression system before I lock in larger systems like more classes, towers and maps. Early Access lets me iterate quickly based on what players actually enjoy.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My current plan is to keep Chthonian TD in Early Access for roughly 6–12 months. This may change depending on feedback, how much content I add, and how many players are actively interested.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand the existing meta progression (more crystal upgrades and unlocks), add more enemy types, additional maps/biomes, more classes and towers, and general polish and quality-of-life improvements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core loop is playable: 1–4 player online co-op on PC (keyboard & mouse), Dungeon and Wide modes, six regular waves that introduce new enemy types, a Wave 7 boss and an optional Endless mode after the boss. There are four base towers plus one class tower per class, run-based XP upgrades, and a basic meta progression system where you earn crystals after a run and spend them on base stats (damage, move speed, attack speed, attack range and max health). There is also a simple in-game library where you can look up classes, towers, enemies, perks and resources. English only; no controller support or in-game chat yet.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The Early Access price is lower. I plan to increase the price slightly when the game leaves Early Access to reflect the additional content and features added over time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I’ll be using Steam discussions (and player reviews) to gather feedback on balance, new content, meta progression and quality-of-life requests. I plan to adjust enemy difficulty, towers, classes and future features based on what active players report and what keeps co-op runs fun.”

About This Game

Chthonian TD

is a fast-paced co-op blend of action roguelite and tower defense for 1–4 players.

Each run lasts 10–15 minutes. You fight off escalating enemy waves on the upper platform while farming resources in a crystal mine below. Spend from a shared wallet, build and upgrade towers on the fly, defeat the boss on Wave 7, and push your limits in Endless Mode, where enemies scale without end.

Action first, towers included

This is not idle tower defense.

You run, shoot, slam, revive teammates and reposition constantly while your defenses do the heavy lifting. Towers, traps and barricades shape the battlefield, but staying alive is always an active job.

Four classes, one shared economy

Each player fills a clear role:

  • Fighter – frontline control and clutch saves

  • Miner – fuels the economy from the mine below

  • Engineer – repairs, stabilizes lanes and boosts towers

  • Medic – heals, revives and keeps the team standing

All players share XP progression, but choose individual level-up perks, creating different builds every run.

Build smart, adapt fast

  • Crossbows for single targets

  • Cannons for crowd control

  • Traps & barricades to delay and redirect enemies

Structures use Crystal or Void resources, unlocking elemental effects, drops and synergies. Towers level up during the run, growing stronger without slowing the pace.

Enemies come in different categories, so mixing damage types and positioning matters.

Balance is tuned primarily for 1–2 players; larger teams are supported and intentionally more chaotic.

Chthonian TD is a focused Early Access build centered on its core loop:
constant action, meaningful decisions, and replayable co-op runs.

If players enjoy it, the plan is to expand with more enemies, towers, maps and progression systems. For now, the goal is simple:
