Welcome to all who have stepped onto the Path of the Conqueror in the name of the Age of Change. I am Danred Dante Helknight, Game Director of the indie studio Hellknights. The developers of video games God of War and DOOM saved my life, and since then, I swore to dedicate it to creating truly living characters and extraordinary worlds that can inspire and save others, gifting them indescribable emotions. Thanks to them, I realized my main goal in life, and over six years of detailed development of the multi-layered script for the Action-RPG Helgnar The Conqueror, I created more than ten new innovative narrative systems aimed at the evolution of the genre.

— Four of them are breakthrough Realistic Connections narrative mechanics, meticulously calibrated down to the smallest detail. Competently working role-playing mechanics will give players the full spectrum of emotions, bring characters to life to the maximum, revolutionize the genre, provide story-driven video games with a necessary second wind, and inspire a new generation of developers. While many believe the industry has reached its peak, I prove the opposite: we haven’t even uncovered a fraction of what video games are actually capable of. My mechanics are direct proof of this.

— At its core, The Conqueror is a spiritual successor to The Witcher 3, but reimagined, expanded, innovative, and set in the author-crafted, distinctive Ruthless Warworld, which unfolds and surprises right up to the very finale. At the beginning of development, The Witcher 3 was the main foundation, inspiration, and benchmark: I completed my favorite game over 10 times and for many years saw incredible untapped potential in this balanced Action-RPG formula.

I didn’t just take the best from the references, but channeled all my efforts into realizing the depth that I always felt was missing in the genre. My main goal was to unlock that very hidden potential — to maximally deepen and elevate the familiar formula to a new level: from a system of multi-layered quests with double consequences to 10 absolutely new breakthrough narrative mechanics, created over 6 years of hard work. — 10 REVOLUTIONARY NEW MECHANICS AND KEY FEATURES —

​It is generally accepted that Action-RPGs and story-driven video games have reached their peak, but in reality, the industry is stuck in an illusion of progress, having never revealed even a part of the true potential of games. Most players and media agree on one thing: in the last ten years, not a single fundamentally new mechanic has been created. In 2014, the Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor became the last example of a truly living mechanic changing the structure of narrative and relationships with the world. But since then, no one has been able to surpass or develop it. The release of The Witcher 3 secured the highest standard of quest quality but did not bring fundamentally new systems.

​For the last decade, the industry has effectively been engaged in "cosmetics": worlds became bigger, graphics — more detailed, but interaction mechanics remained the same. Players repeatedly get old ideas in a new wrapper, which created the myth that the genre has reached its peak and players are destined to play the same thing. I am here to prove the opposite. For many years I waited for one of the studios to dig deeper and reveal the true potential, but in every new game, I saw all the same things.

​If you want to get something, do it yourself — and that is why I dedicated the last 6 years to finding the "keys" that will allow story-driven games to take the next step, evolve into something greater, and reveal their true potential. Unlike movies and TV shows, video game developers have a huge number of opportunities to create a unique interactive experience, but this potential has simply not been used for years. More than ten new mechanics created for my game became my manifesto and proof: the true evolution of video games is in our hands, and we are capable of much more than endless polishing of the past and improving graphics.

I am Danred Helknight, and I would like to introduce something new and revolutionary to the gaming industry. None of the characters are immune, even the key figures, each of the key characters can die and will die because of your ambiguous actions. From now on, everything depends only on you and your ambiguous choices throughout the game. Throughout the emotional and brutal story, you'll shape many fates, save, and kill many ambiguous characters. - Fatal Choices will make you nervous and emotional with every choice of dialog option, because behind every choice you can expect Fatal Death. With every choice, you will absolutely feel emotions, because every choice you make kills someone, changes destinies or shapes personalities. In Warworld, you are always responsible for your words and actions.

- The Realistic Relationship mechanics will give you the unforgettable emotions of a complex romantic relationship and will truly vitalize your partner. To win the hearts of key female characters, you have a long way to go – to hear and listen to living personalities with their own opinions. Actually, during your travels, the companion has been analyzing you based on your ambiguous choices, and will eventually give a verdict on all your actions. It is not you who chooses who to be with, but the characters who come to life in your sight decide if you are worthy of them. The Personality Formation mechanics has merely deepened key romantic lines and strengthened the player's bonds with the characters to an indescribable level.

The genius of these universal mechanics is that you can work with them on almost any budget. Nothing is impossible, and the mechanics don't require much. We'll roughly be creating as much content as in The Witcher 3, only the content will be of a better quality and more interesting. Instead of the typical illusion of choice, players will have full control over all characters and the entire Warworld. If developers develop games using the Realistic Connections mechanics, they simply won't be able to create a cliched story or hollow characters. The mechanics will force you to develop a story, bring any character to life to the max, and give players far more quality video games. While all the hired screenwriters were hastily cheating off each other and treading water, I looked into the very essence of role-playing video games and squeezed the most out of them.

​I have lived and breathed the gaming industry for over 20 years, and all this is just the beginning: I am developing many directions in which video games can evolve. Besides the current development, I already have an extensive set of new mechanics and prototypes formed that will become the next stage of my work. You will live an extraordinary and full-fledged story of the Conqueror's life, in which you will have to be both protagonist and antagonist at the same time. As you hunt monsters and conquer everything in your path, you will have to answer many difficult questions concerning each of us and our complicated lives in a world of violence and war. You will stand not just against the laws, the system, the kings, the gods and the whole world, but against the very essence of man and try to change the world order in itself. 

Technology and weapons are increasingly evolving and becoming more destructive, but humans are not trying to get better and are still stagnating. They are still waging wars being one step away from destroying themselves. Not a single century in our world has passed without wars, and sometimes it seems that mankind is simply unable to exist without them, but is it really so? Is there no way to change this without dictatorship and people must accept their fate and live in a world of war? Are humans capable of evolving as a species into something better and finally ending all wars in the world? Is mankind without evolution only capable of inevitable self-destruction and extinction?

Each of you will have to find the answers to the questions that have kept bothering us throughout our lives. Does each of us have a definite destiny? Do we mold our own destinies? Do our origins shape us, or does everything depend on our choices and surroundings? What is our life worth in a world with no one caring about each other? The main story is a solid, detailed, and valuable work of art with an important message and interesting ideas that have not yet been explored or revealed. The full incredible potential of video games has been utilized and one of the most elaborate scripts in the gaming industry has been created, based on a multi-layer compelling narrative, with dual unpredictable consequences and revolutionary new mechanics.

— SYNOPSIS —

After losing absolutely everything and enduring all the torments of the Hell of the Ruthless World of War, Dahnred Helgnar Nightblaze undergoes a path of formation from an innocent teenager to a ruthless Berserker, instilling fear in every living soul. Dahnred gains brotherhood, learns the bloody Path of Berserker, and joins a global organization fighting to secure autonomy for the Wolf Kingdom of Redrock. As a member of the unified Berserker brotherhood, he participates in all the Wars of Thrones, in battles with invincible monsters and gradually becomes the informal leader of the brotherhood of the world's best warriors. 

Over hundreds of wars, he kills politicians, jarls, kings and learns about all their weak points. With the invaluable experience of ten years of throne wars, incredible resources and skills in his hands, Berserker keeps a promise he made to himself on a decisive night and starts exterminating kings for the sake of a better future. Inhuman politicians are not easily disempowered and the temporary alliance of the kings of Dreigrim hits him in the heart.
