What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Exanimora is built around systems and mechanics that thrive on iteration and community feedback. Early Access gives us the chance to refine combat flow, balance progression, and test UI clarity with real players instead of in a vacuum. By involving the community early, we can identify what feels great, what needs adjustment, and where new ideas can take root. Our goal is to make Exanimora not just a game you play, but a world you help shape.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Exanimora to remain in Early Access for 4–9 months. This window gives us time to polish core systems, respond to community feedback, and expand the game with new frameworks and additional characters. The exact timeline may shift depending on the scope of feedback and the pace of development, but our focus will always be on delivering meaningful updates and keeping players informed along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will focus on the core gameplay loop, foundational mechanics, and initial content. The full release is planned to expand on this foundation with:
- A total of 8 playable characters, each offering unique playstyles
- Refined UI/UX informed by player feedback
- Expanded content, including new areas and narrative elements
- A total of 8 bosses to challenge players in different ways
- 6 schools of magic to diversify combat
- 4 explorable dungeons with unique themes and encounters
- New weapons and weapon classes to broaden tactical options
- Quest systems and a text‑driven story, allowing players to experience narrative progression without requiring voice acting
- Balancing, polish, and bug fixes across all system”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Exanimora contains the core gameplay loop, foundational mechanics, and an initial set of characters, enemies, and environments. Players can already experience combat, exploration, and progression systems, as well as test the UI and provide feedback on usability. While the game is fully playable, it is still in active development, content is limited compared to our full vision, and players may encounter balancing issues or bugs. Early Access is our opportunity to refine these systems with community input before expanding into the full scope of the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. Exanimora will remain completely free during Early Access and after full release. This project is designed to showcase our game development skills, experiment with systems, and grow through community interaction. We don’t want cost to be a barrier, our focus is on learning, improving, and building a community around the game.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is at the heart of Exanimora’s development. All communication and feedback will be handled directly through the Steam forums, where players can share suggestions, report bugs, and discuss mechanics. We will post regular updates and devlogs to highlight progress, explain design decisions, and outline upcoming features. Player feedback will directly influence how mechanics evolve, how UI is refined, and how new content is prioritized.”

About This Game

Exanimora is a dark fantasy hack-and-slash adventure with Soulslike influences, set in a cursed realm where death is never the end.

At its core lies discovery, brutal combat, and atmospheric storytelling. Explore a decaying world filled with corrupted horrors, forgotten crypts, and shattered spires, each hiding secrets and lore waiting to be uncovered.

Combat is unforgiving yet rewarding, demanding patience, timing, and resourcefulness. Inspired by Soulslike design and eldritch fiction, Exanimora introduces a customizable combat system, unique enemy encounters, and a world that challenges you to adapt with every step.

This is a story of loss and defiance. As one of the gifted undead,  beings who resisted death itself,  you must carve your path through despair, embrace what was once lost, and fight to escape the horrors that bind you
