What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I’m developing this game solo and Early Access allows me to grow it together with the community. Since it blends RPG and survival/resource management mechanics, player feedback is key to balancing difficulty, improving systems, and shaping the overall experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is to stay in Early Access for several months up to a year, depending on feedback and scope. I want to polish core systems and add meaningful content before calling it a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include:

More story content and quests.

Additional survival mechanics and resource events.

Improved visuals, UI, and overall polish.

Expanded localization options.

Community-driven features based on feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes the core gameplay loop: survival/resource management, RPG elements (stats, decisions, exploration), and a playable beginning-to-end “one-shot” story structure. It’s fully playable, but not yet feature-complete. Expect rough edges, balancing issues, and placeholder art in some areas.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The Early Access version will be offered at a lower price. As new features, content, and polish are added, the price will increase closer to full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will guide the game’s growth. I’ll be active on Steam forums, Discord, and social media — listening to suggestions, running small polls, and testing new mechanics with players. The goal is to make development transparent and involve the community in shaping the final version.”

About This Game

Hell sent the bill. Bring friends.

The King's Bargain is an online co-op action RPG for 1–4 players.

Thirty years ago, King Aldric traded his wife's soul to the devil for a woman who had already turned him down seventeen times. It went about as well as you'd expect. Now the contract has matured, Hell's collections department is at the gate, and thanks to a typo in the fine print, every one of you is the King. Every one of you owes the full amount.

Pick a weapon, sign a few questionable clauses and smash your way through Hell's middle management.

Up to four Kings. One very bad decision.

  • Online co-op for 1–4 players. Invite friends through Steam. Bosses scale with the size of your party.

  • Downed, not dead. Fall in battle and your friends have 30 seconds to drag you back up.

  • Solo? Bring your other self. In single player you lead two heroes and switch between them at any time while the AI plays the other one.

Choose a path. Forge your weapon. Break everything.

Swords, axes, hammers, bows, crossbows, wands and a support scepter for the King who would rather heal. Your build decides how they hit.

  • A passive tree with 100+ nodes and a branch for every weapon. Commit to the hammer and the ground starts to shake.

  • Skill books give you two active skills at a time, plus a dash. Mix elements to trigger combo reactions.

  • Blacksmith and crafting. Refine the weapon you love instead of throwing it away.

Every boon has a price.

Barry from HR, Hell's most reluctant compliance auditor, arrives with an offer: three contract clauses, pick one, sign in blood. Faster attacks, bigger crits, lifesteal, glass-cannon damage, each with a catch in the fine print. Dozens of boons and curses stack into builds that get stranger the deeper you go. You can always refuse. Barry will be disappointed. He is used to it.

Raid dungeons together.

Step through a portal into a dungeon assembled differently every time. A sign over each door tells you what is behind it: a fight, treasure, a travelling merchant, a cursed altar or a shrine. A boss waits at the end, and every run earns a grade from S to D.

Hell's middle managers

Five department heads of Mephistar's Infernal Revenue Service each hold one staple of your contract. Mortis, Chief Collections, holds the seal. Read the telegraphs, get out of the red and tear the staples out one by one.

  • Pyrrhos, Past-Due Accounts: "Your interest has interest, Majesty."

  • Sariel, Cold Calling: "Your call is very important to us. That is why it will never end."

  • Mortis, Chief Collections: "I don't send letters, Majesty. I am the letter."

Thornak, Vorlag and Kael'thur are just as committed to customer service.

Loot, pets and paperwork

  • Loot from Common to Mythic, with a loot filter so you only see what matters.

  • Tame a wild beast or hatch an egg. Name your pet, level it up, and it fights at your side and boosts your stats.

  • Elite enemies, world events and a contract board full of bounties for when the main story can wait.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Story,Localization;
I'm using AI as a tool to assist me, but the main story, characters, and major plot points are all created by me. This way, there's no unnecessarily long or ridiculous AI-generated story; I'm just using it to make things clearer.
