What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“There are two main reasons we've decided to bring The Redwood Estate to Early Access. First, we don't want to rush the end of development. We'd rather take the time needed to properly finish the remaining chapters while sharing a substantial portion of the game with you. Second, community feedback has already been an essential part of this project. Since the release of our demo, your feedback has helped us make the overall experience more enjoyable. Early Access gives us the opportunity to continue that process with our commuity as we work toward the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect The Redwood Estate to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 months, although this may change as development progresses.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to have major updates throughout Early Access and leading into the full release that will advance and ultimately conclude Tim’s story. We’ll also introduce a second playable character, with her own set of skills, mechanics, and challenges. We also want to bring a Survival Mode with local co-op to the full version, along with additional game modes that can be unlocked after completing the game. This includes Nightmare Mode, True Survivor Mode, and Expert Survivor Mode, each adding new challenges for players looking to push their limits. And, of course, many achievements for those who want to fully explore everything the Redwood Estate has to offer.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version provides the first two stages of Horror Scenarios: The Redwood Estate, offering 5+ hours of gameplay. It includes the beginning of Tim Rieff’s investigation, featuring a wide range of exploration, puzzles, resource management, and fully functional gameplay mechanics, including combat, weapons, enemies, and boss encounters.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to start with a fair Early Access price that reflects the content available at launch. Once the game reaches its full 1.0 release, we will re-evaluate the price and may increase it to reflect the additional content and completed experience.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback has been an important part of the development of The Redwood Estate since the release of our demo. While we have a clear vision for the game and how we want players to experience it, we’ve also learned not to be too rigid and to embrace new ways for players to enjoy the game beyond our original vision. Feedback, both positive and negative, through our social channels, X/Twitter, and the Steam Community Hub is crucial to improving the game’s quality of life and overall player experience. We also plan to share regular development updates and a public roadmap, allowing players to follow our progress and see what we’re working on. We want the community to be part of the development process, not just the audience at the end of it.”

About This Game

The year is 2000.

Officers Tim Rieff and Kim Hansbury are dispatched to the remote Redwood Estate after contact is lost with two fellow officers. What begins as a routine welfare check quickly turns into something far more disturbing.

Inside the estate, silence hides the truth.

To locate their missing colleagues and uncover what happened to the residents and staff, Tim must explore the manor and its surroundings, search for survivors, and face the growing threat hidden within its walls.

Explore, investigate, and survive in a tense, top-down horror experience inspired by classic survival horror games. With scarce resources, dangerous enemies, and puzzles standing between you and the truth, every decision can make the difference between life and death.

  • Collect your arsenal to defend yourself against horrific enemies.

  • Explore the manor and its surroundings in search of your missing fellow officers. Uncover the mysterious events that led to the tragic fate of the residents and staff of the Redwood Estate in this atmospheric survival horror experience.

  • Search every corner for the tools you’ll need to survive against terrifying enemies while carefully managing your limited resources.

An original soundtrack composed in-house supports the atmosphere with moments of dread, restraint, and brief relief between encounters.
