Secret of the Boarding House is a first-person psychological horror game where you play as a journalist determined to uncover one of the darkest secrets of the Soviet past.

Your protagonist sets out to investigate an abandoned boarding house to discover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances of children that took place there decades ago — and to finish his article. However, he never reaches his destination: a car accident cuts the journey short. When he regains consciousness, the journalist finds himself inside an unfinished building on the boarding house grounds. Now he must traverse dark corridors filled with nightmares, uncover chilling secrets from the past, and fight for survival.

  • The Listener (Object No. 3142) — a creature with heightened hearing, reacting to footsteps, noises, and any interaction with objects.

  • The Watcher (Object No. 5454) — can see the player from afar but is completely deaf to sounds.

  • Mutated monster with a hallucination aura (Object No. 7319) — inflicts terrifying visions on the player and drags them closer, leaving no chance of escape.

  • Mimic Spider (Object No. 9921) — crawls across floors, walls, and ceilings, startling the player in the most unexpected places.

• 🔦 Exploration and survival — search for notes, keys, and resources to progress further and unlock new areas.

• 🎭 Atmosphere of fear — hallucinations, jump scares, and tense sound design will never let you feel safe.

• 🎥 Cinematic storytelling — the narrative unfolds gradually: from the car accident and first steps inside the unfinished building to the final encounter with the secret hidden in the boarding house basement.
