What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Balancing mainly. We're only two developers, so it is difficult for us to test all possible scenarios and builds. We are also a bit unsure which direction to take certain aspects of the game such as the end game or the meta progression. We would therefore really like to hear players' opinion and figure out what works best for the game. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“A year, but it could change depending on player feedback. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add more items to the game, but we primarily want to improve on the general experience of the game. Such as making sure combat feels smooth, making passives work well together and ensuring that the game offers a lot of interesting build choices. We also want the hub area of the game to be more meaningful than what it is right now.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable and includes 23 unlockable creatures. The balance and difficulty might be a bit off. The only meta progression included is through unlocking new creatures and areas. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Early access will be a little cheaper. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have a discord server where players can write with us, discuss topics and give feedback on the game. We will also gather feedback from the steam forums. ”

About This Game

Organize and build

Gem beasts is a creature collector with roguelike elements, where players make their build using a limited amount of inventory space. Gather items, gems and abilities during your run, and optimize their arrangement to best benefit your build.

Find the best combinations!

The main appeal of the game is to experiment with different combinations of items, abilities and gems. Learn how to best utilize each Gem Beast and find the most optimal way to consistently break the game.

Unlocking new creatures

Pick a Gem Beast from your collection and go on expeditions across different areas. Defeat the boss of an area, and unlock them as a playable Gem Beast. There are 23 creatures to play as, each with their own unique ability and stats.

Collect and evolve!

As you progress in the game you’ll be able to evolve 17 of the Gem Beasts, which will increase their base stats.  By gathering more creatures you’ll also unlock more areas to explore, with stronger creatures.
