What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Soul Maze is entering Early Access to allow us to share the game with players while continuing to improve the experience based on their feedback.

The core gameplay loop is already in place: explore the labyrinth, take on different trials, collect Soul Fragments and try to escape… or become a Dark Soul and prevent the others from surviving.

Early Access will allow us to see how players experience and engage with Soul Maze, and identify the improvements that will have the greatest impact on the overall experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We have not set a specific duration for Early Access yet.

We want to take the time needed to gather player feedback, make the necessary adjustments, and ensure that Soul Maze is ready for its full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be a more polished and refined version of the experience available at the launch of Early Access.

We plan to further refine the balance and overall feel of the game, improve stability, and address issues encountered throughout Early Access.

The content and features available at the launch of Early Access form the foundation of the experience we want to offer. If new possibilities arise during development, we will keep the community informed and clearly communicate any additions to the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Soul Maze is playable online with 2 to 4 players and features its core gameplay loop.

Across a series of timed rounds, players explore a labyrinth, take on different trials, and collect Soul Fragments that they must bring back to the Safe Zone before time runs out.

Players can also use their lanterns to communicate and interact with their surroundings, while the Strategist role allows one player to remain in the Safe Zone, observe the labyrinth, and guide their team.

If a round is failed, players must face the consequences of their failure: one of them may be sacrificed and become a Dark Soul, turning cooperation into a confrontation between the Light Souls and their former ally.

The Early Access version also includes controller support and several customization options to personalize your Soul.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of Soul Maze may change during development depending on how the game evolves and what content is offered.

Any significant price changes will be communicated to the community in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will follow player feedback and suggestions through the Steam forums and our Discord server.

This feedback will help us identify issues, understand what works best, and guide the improvements we make to the game throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

Every round, your team can fail. Every failure means a vote. Every vote means one of you burns, and comes back as the enemy.

Soul Maze is a 2–4 player online co-op where cooperation and betrayal go hand in hand. Explore a procedurally generated labyrinth, collect Soul Fragments, and survive the darkness. Together, if you can stay that way.

The maze reshapes itself every run: new corridors, new traps, new threats. Work together to locate the Soul Fragments hidden in puzzles and obstacle challenges before time runs out. Every second counts. Every fragment matters. You will never walk the same darkness twice.

Have you noticed the tall tower rising from the center of the maze? It might just save you. From there, one player can oversee the labyrinth, guiding others through the darkness and locating the fragments. Use it wisely… or ignore it at your own risk.

Soul Fragments aren't just lying around. They're locked behind obstacle courses, solo puzzles, and cooperative trials that demand communication and trust. The maze will test both, and so will your teammates.

Sacrificed by your friends? The maze has other plans for you.

As a Dark Soul, you return with new powers and one objective : make sure they never escape. Steal fragments before the light souls reach them. Use your XRay vision to track them through walls. Freeze them in place and watch them scramble. You're no longer playing the same game, you're playing against it.

The more rounds they fail, the more Dark Souls hunt them. By the final round, the odds might not be in their favor.
