Why Early Access?

“We believe that SURROUNDED is at its best when shaped together with the community. Survival horror thrives on unpredictability and tension, and no amount of internal playtesting can match the creativity, feedback, and strategies that players bring. By releasing in Early Access, we can refine the balance, expand the feature set, and ensure that every system—from AI behavior to co-op mechanics—delivers the fear and immersion players expect.

Early Access also allows us to:
- Test large-scale co-op stability and networking
- Gather community feedback on enemy AI, mission variety, and progression
- Adjust difficulty and pacing based on real player experience
- Expand replayability features and add new environments”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect SURROUNDED to remain in Early Access for up to 6 months. This timeline gives us enough room to implement major features, polish core systems, and add additional content such as new maps, entities, and mission types.

Of course, development is a living process—if the community requests more content or systems than initially planned, Early Access may last longer. Our priority is quality, not speed.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full release of SURROUNDED to expand on the core survival horror experience with:

- Additional entities with unique mechanics and AI behavior
- Larger and more varied environments
- More mission types and objectives to increase replay value
- Expanded progression systems and deeper lore
- Further optimization for co-op stability and overall performance

While the Early Access version already delivers the core survival horror experience, our goal for the full version is to be more polished, content-rich, and balanced.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of SURROUNDED is fully playable and includes:

- Core survival horror gameplay loop
- Co-op functionality with working team play
- Several entities with different behaviors
- Environment and mission objectives
- Foundational systems for inventory, health, and stamina

Although stable, the game is still in development. Players may encounter bugs, balancing issues, or missing features that will be improved throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently have no plans to change the price after Early Access. Our goal is for players to feel confident joining early without worrying about sudden increases.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is central to SURROUNDED’s development. We’ll involve players through:

- Steam forums & discussions for suggestions and bug reports
- Regular updates & patch notes highlighting community-requested changes
- Polls and feedback surveys to help decide priority features
- Active developer communication on social channels and Discord
