What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to develop the game together with players from the point where its core experience is already playable. The current version lets you complete the first chapter of the story, explore the world of Norstam, interact with NPCs, follow quests, use dialogue systems, and experience the foundations of manual crafting and alchemy.
We see Early Access as a natural stage of development. We want to gather feedback on what works best: the atmosphere, dialogues, pacing, quests, crafting, exploration, and the overall direction of the project. We also want to hear what players would like to see expanded in the final version.
Our goal is not to rush the project to completion, but to steadily build the game into a deeper, more living world where alchemy, NPC relationships, trading, recipes, and the consequences of player choices become increasingly important.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to remain in Early Access for around 2–3 years. We want to develop it steadily and thoughtfully, rather than rush the full release at the cost of quality or depth.
The current version focuses on the first major area, the main story path, dialogues, quests, NPC interactions, and the core crafting and alchemy mechanics. During Early Access, we plan to gradually expand the world with new locations, quests, recipes, characters, interconnected systems, and features that make the world feel more alive.
The exact timeline may change depending on player feedback, the scope of future development, and which directions prove most interesting to the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version focuses on the first major area of the game, a complete main story path, dialogues, quests, NPC interactions, and the foundations of manual crafting and alchemy.
For the full version, we plan to significantly expand the scope of the game. We would like to add additional regions, new locations, more characters, a longer story, more quests, recipes, ingredients, and deeper consequences for player choices. We also plan to further develop the alchemy and crafting systems so they become one of the main pillars of the gameplay.
Our long-term goal is to create a more living world where NPCs have their own needs, items move between characters, trade and production matter more, and the player solves problems mainly through dialogue, alchemy, knowledge, and relationships.
We also want to take the Early Access community’s feedback into account. Some development directions, priorities, and new features may depend on what players find most interesting, most needed, or most worth expanding.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version contains a playable first chapter set in the region of Norstam. Players can follow the main story path, explore the castle and its surroundings, complete quests, talk to characters, use the inventory, interact with objects, and progress through the storyline centered around alchemy and saving the protagonist’s sick father.
The game already includes the core systems for dialogue, quests, NPC interactions, inventory, trading, exploration, and crafting. Dialogues and relationships between characters are an important part of the experience, and the world contains the first locations, 3D models, animations, characters, and story elements needed to complete the current version.
Some systems are still in development and may be simpler than planned for the full version. Crafting, alchemy, world behavior, NPC economy, and additional story content will continue to be expanded throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to gradually increase the price as the project develops. The Early Access version will be available at a lower price because the game is still in development and its scope will continue to grow over time.
As we add new locations, quests, characters, recipes, mechanics, quality improvements, and more content, we plan to adjust the price to reflect the current state of the game. We want early supporters to be able to buy the game at a lower price, while allowing the price of the more complete version to better reflect its intended scope.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to actively use player feedback throughout Early Access development. We are especially interested in feedback about dialogues, quests, pacing, crafting, alchemy, objective clarity, the atmosphere of the world, and ideas for future expansion.
We plan to collect suggestions, bug reports, and general impressions through Steam discussions, our community channels, and email contact. We will look at which parts of the game players enjoy the most, which areas need improvement, and which development directions the community finds most interesting.
Not every suggestion will be possible to include in the game, but we want player feedback to help us set update priorities, improve existing systems, and develop the game toward a more polished, living world.”

About This Game

How far will you go to save your father?
You are not a chosen hero from an ancient prophecy. You do not begin your journey in shining armor, with a sword in your hand and a royal blessing at your back. You are a young village boy whose family has been pushed to the edge of tragedy. Your father is gravely ill, and the only hope may lie with the castle alchemist.
The problem is that no one at Castle Norstam is waiting for another hero.
You begin with the simplest work: feeding horses, carrying water, cleaning up, cooking, and following the orders of people far above you in the castle hierarchy. But every conversation, every favor, and every ingredient you obtain may bring you one step closer to your goal.

Talk, work, trade, improvise, and brew.
Norstam is a place full of rough personalities, small deals, and everyday problems. The cook needs water, the stable master wants the horses properly fed, merchants trade rare goods, wounded warriors need help, and the alchemist has no time for anyone who cannot first solve his own problems.
By completing tasks, you earn the trust of the castle’s inhabitants and the people around it. Through dialogue, favors, trading, exploration, and manual crafting, you gradually reach the people, items, and recipes needed to prepare a cure.

Alchemy is at the heart of this story.
Gather ingredients, learn recipes, use vessels, tables, stoves, and workstations. Prepare food, teas, potions, and other useful products that can help the people of Norstam — or open the way to new quests.
This is not a story about a great hero who saves the kingdom from the very beginning. It is the story of someone starting at the bottom, forced to navigate work, obligations, favors, and human interests in order to save the person closest to him.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI tools were used during the production of the game as creative and technical support. This applies only to content prepared in advance during development.
AI was used in several areas, including:

Artwork and promotional materials — generating base images, character concepts, interface concepts, reference images, and materials later used as a foundation for manual editing or further production.
3D models — some models are created with the help of AI tools and an image-to-3D workflow, then selected, adjusted, and integrated into the game.
Voice acting — character voices are created using AI-based voice synthesis.
Code and production tools — AI assistants support coding, code analysis, refactoring, and optimization.
Design consultation — AI tools are used as support for analyzing ideas, designing interfaces, refining descriptions, and planning game systems.
The main concept of the game, story structure, quest dependencies, world direction, and dialogue content are created and supervised by the game’s author. Content created with the help of AI is selected, edited, and implemented manually.
The game does not contain AI-generated content created in real time during gameplay.
