“The duration will depend on community interest and iterations, but the current plan is around four months of active development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We’re planning updates that further develop the game’s creative and management systems. Future versions may include additional building types, decorative and functional structures, new progression layers for the Endless mode, and expanded customization options. We also intend to explore better Steam integration, such as achievements, cloud saving, and quality-of-life improvements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes a short tutorial campaign and an Endless Mode, where players can freely build their kingdom without time limits.
Some features, such as progress saving, are not yet available but are planned for future updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

About This Game

High above the clouds, where the surface of the world lies lost and forgotten, a new era of kingdoms is about to begin. You are the ruler of a fledgling realm, building across floating islands to forge a thriving empire among the skies.

Gather grain from fertile fields, harvest wood from towering groves, seek knowledge under clear horizons, and nurture the faith of your people. Each choice you make strengthens your realm and shapes its destiny.

Expand to new islands, connect them with trade, and take advantage of unique bonuses hidden within the land. From humble beginnings, you will raise a kingdom that defies gravity itself.

Start small with a single island, gather resources, and unlock new buildings. As you progress, expand to other islands, balance production, and trade resources between them. Every decision brings your realm closer to greatness.

State of development

Skybound Colonies is currently in Early Access

While the experience is fully playable, some features are still in development. The current version includes the complete tutorial campaign, Endless Mode, and the core building mechanics.

However, there are still a few limitations:

  • Progress saving in Endless Mode is not yet available.

  • Expanded settings for fine-tuned sound adjustments and graphic quality controls are planned but not implemented.
