About This Game

Blood Exchange System

Healing items are scarce, so survival depends on sharing blood. Use transfusion kits to keep your team alive, provided their blood types are compatible. Careful management of who gives and who receives could mean the difference between life and death.

Evolving Dice Mechanics

Every player starts with a single D4 die. By defeating key enemies and collecting dice fragments you unlock additional dice, increasing your chances of rare loot, unique encounters, and higher stakes; all the way up to a D20.

Switching Perspectives

A 2D horror RPG that occasionally shifts into third-person or first-person sequences to heighten moments of tension, immersion, or psychological unease.

Character Backstories and Replayability

Play through each character’s unique personal story before their arrival in Dismay to unlock exclusive starting gear, abilities, and narrative paths. Your choices shape the outcome and may even reveal secret characters.

Brutal Status Effects

Survival is a constant struggle. The game introduces a wide variety of crippling status debuffs that add tension to every encounter and force you to adapt.

Risky Lockpicking

Lockpicking is not just a mini-game, but a dangerous gamble. Every failed attempt risks alerting enemies to your location, adding a layer of tension and strategy to exploration.

Psychological Profile

At the start of the game, take a psychological test that assigns you a character reflecting your behaviour, directly tying your traits to the narrative’s themes of mental illness and survival.

Characters

Choose from eight unique characters, each with their own story, abilities, and mental illness.

Play their prelude chapters to unlock starting items, skills, and different paths.

Each offers a different path to survival… or downfall

There’s even a secret ninth character waiting to be found.

Inventory & UI

The inventory and UI are crafted with care, blending technical precision, functional design, and striking art direction. Every element is designed to feel immersive and intuitive, matching the bleak tone of the game while keeping you focused on survival.
