What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe the core charm of our game lies in its unique fusion of relaxing fishing simulation and deep card strategy. Perfecting the balance and fun of this gameplay requires a great deal of player feedback.

Rather than developing in a bubble, we want to grow with our community. Early Access allows us to listen to and incorporate your valuable suggestions at a key stage of development. Your feedback on card balance, new skill ideas, and the economic system will directly help us make the game more polished and fun. We want to build this game with you.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Based on our current development plan, we expect the game to be in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months.

However, our primary goal is to deliver a high-quality, complete game. This timeline is not set in stone, and we will make the final decision based on development progress and community feedback. We will be sure to keep the community updated on major milestones.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our goal for the full version is to build upon the Early Access foundation with richer content and a more optimized experience. As we move towards the full release, we are currently planning several key areas for improvement:

More Content: We plan to explore adding new skills, more diverse fish cards and attributes, and a variety of unexpected random events. Our hope is that these additions will significantly increase the strategic depth and replay value.

New Challenge Mode: We are considering designing a 'Hard Mode' for core players seeking a greater challenge. The intention is to introduce new objectives and tougher tests.

A Polished Experience: A major focus will be polishing the overall experience. Based on community feedback, we hope to optimize the UI, address potential bugs, and fine-tune the game's balance to deliver a highly polished and smooth final version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version has a complete core gameplay loop and is highly playable. You can experience the full 'buy fry -> build pond -> catch & sell fish -> pay rent' cycle. The main systems like deck-building, relic collection, achievement, talent tree system are also implemented.

To be transparent, as a strategy game, the current version might have some balance issues with certain card strengths or economic values. This is exactly what we aim to address through Early Access. We are committed to closely monitoring community feedback and will continue to make fixes and adjustments in future updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. We do not plan to increase the price upon full release.

We want to thank every player who believes in and supports us in the early stages. Your early purchase is our greatest encouragement.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We deeply value our community and plan to interact closely with players through several channels:

Official Platforms: We have set up an official Discord server and QQ group where our development team will be active, ready to chat with players and gather feedback.

Steam Community Hub: We will continuously monitor the discussions, reviews, and suggestions in the Steam Community. This is an important place for you to share your thoughts, report issues, and make suggestions.

Transparent Development: We will regularly post dev logs to keep the community updated on our progress, update plans, and how we're incorporating player feedback.”

About This Game

FishingCard is a Card Roguelike game where fish are not just fish—they are also cards. In the game, you'll play as a little kitten who can't afford cat food, embarking on a survival adventure of strategy and luck that spans a 6-period, 24-turn challenge. The player's goal is to build a pond ecosystem that can sustainably generate money to pay for the ever-increasing cost of cat food. The core gameplay loop revolves around the cycle of "buying fish fry from a shop - building a pond - fishing - selling for money." Additionally, at the end of each round, you will also earn interest from your pond.

The game features over 30 different effect tags, more than 40 unique function cards, and over 60 game-altering relics that create fantastic chain reactions between your fish. As you progress, you can choose different starting skills, and with randomly generated quests and rewards, every run is a brand new experience.
