What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Currently I'm developing this game almost all by myself (With a help of a couple of friends). In all honesty, considering everything I want to add to this game and call it "complete", this takes a lot of time and dedication. So, instead of developing this game all by myself I would love to hear and see the opinion of other people that are enjoying this game, so we can travel this road together and create something really nice in the process.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At this point it's a bit hard to say. Previously I said that this would take only 2-4 months, although the amount of features and content I would like to add (in addition to what I already added during Early Access) to this game is quite a lot. So, although I'm unable to give a specific release date, I'll give my best shot to complete all of my plans properly and in the shortest time possible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Colony 37 is constantly expanding, although at the 1.0 release I'm planning on adding features written below:
- Different modes to play (Story, Challenge, Hardcore).
- Finished and complete storyline.
- Even more side quests.
- High score system, which will track your progress and compare it to the progress of your Steam friends.
- Integrated Steam Workshop for custom points of interest.
- More diverse equipment.
- Enemy creatures that would lurk underneath.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At this point of development Colony 37 can offer:
- Complete gameplay features (mining, procedurally generated world generation, threats system, etc.)
- Perk System.
- Dialogue system.
- Tiers of equipment, starting from simple wooden ones and ending with industrial and high-grade drills.
- Basic storyline that supplements core gameplay.
- 7 underground biomes with their respective resources.
- Plenty of instruments to choose from.
- 3 discoverable laboratories, hidden underground, that will progress the story forward.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At the current time I am not planning to increase the price of the game after 1.0 release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback will be most important. Player reviews and suggestions in the community hub will have a high priority, considering that this game is on on-going development, I will thoroughly investigate every suggestion and try to implement everything that would be possible and fitting to the game world.”
