About This Game

Tabletop Fantasy War is a turn-based strategy game set in the fantasy world of Korsak, a world entirely designed by a kid during his journey creating his dream tabletop game.

Inspired by classical tabletop games, in Tabletop Fantasy War the first step is to create and customize your army in the unit's lobby. There are different factions you can play with which have units with different abilities and statistics, and have a completely different research progression during a match.

Every match takes place in a hexagonal grid battleground. You start with a fixed number of points to deploy different groups of units from your pre-created army in the battleground. When all players have deployed their groups, the match starts. You command your groups of units with different actions: moving them through different terrains, setting them in unique formations, using offensive and supportive abilities and engaging and entering in combat with opponent groups.

The gameplay turns around these two core mechanics: engaging opponent groups and guarding. Bring your groups of units close to opponent groups to enter in an “engage” state. Engaged groups have restrictions and cannot freely move away. If they do, they will get automatically attacked by the opponent. In contrast, guarding is a group formation that sets the group in watching mode. Any opponent crossing their range of view will get automatically attacked. Most of the abilities and benefits granted by special units are focused on aiding or countering these two game mechanics.

The multiplayer mode brings your army to different battlegrounds set in different areas of Korsak to play against computer-controlled or other human players both, locally or online. The default victory condition is to defeat the opponents. Different objectives and victory conditions will be available for the full-release of the game.

The single player or campaign mode brings you to the fantasy world of Korsak. Playing with one of the factions, you will dive in the search for the “source”. You will play in different battlegrounds with unique objective and victory conditions. Progressing across the world with different paths and endings. You will learn about the story of the kid and his friend who joins him to play the tabletop game. Unlinking one mystery after another. Hearing the voices of the kids. Strange conversations. Vague voices that fade away. You will experience unexpected events making you question what is real and what is fantasy.

The campaign will open a much more complex system for the creation and customization of your army, with battle rewards, unlockable unique abilities and units and many more options to make your experience as the creator and commander of your army much more personal and tight to your performance in battle.

And this is how it starts in Tabletop Fantasy War… you hold the book of the Master and slowly, hesitant… you open it…

Aaarbar, the travelers.” are the first words written with simple and irregular handwriting, almost as if a kid would have written it. “A nomad civilization. Travelers of the vast universe. Seekers of “the source”. They have been exploring the universe since their beginning. Invading worlds and extracting their energy. They are great fighters. Feared in hand-to-hand combat...”. Part of the page has been erased. Tables with unintelligible numbers. Blurry drawings of warriors and some sort of spells.

Corx, the host”, is written on the next page. “Defenders of the world. Producers of energy. Protectors of “the source”. A traditional yet ambitious civilization. They are wise strategists. Known by their stealth and ambushes with ranged soldiers.” More blurry drawings and erased text.

The next page is visible but some words are written in an unknown language. “???, the ??? civilization?”.

Nothing else…
