What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re launching Veg Uprising in Early Access to grow the game organically (pun intended) alongside our players. While the core gameplay, characters, and campaign structure are solidly planted, we want your feedback to fine-tune level design, balance item upgrades, and expand the game’s world and humor in ways that resonate with you.

This isn’t just about squashing bugs — it’s about letting you shape the future of our unhinged vegetable uprising. If you’ve got thoughts on difficulty curves, character polish, or how many times a potato should cry per mission… we’re listening.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Veg Uprising to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 9 months. This timeline allows us to refine gameplay mechanics, expand content, and respond meaningfully to community feedback while staying true to the vision of the game.

That said, if the carrots start organizing unions or the onion enters another emotional spiral, timelines may shift slightly.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add:

A complete single-player campaign with 150+ handcrafted levels

Additional enemy types and boss weed variants

More strategic items, traps, and distraction mechanics

Expanded customization (cosmetics, victory poses, and humiliating defeat animations)

Fully voiced banter and character interactions across levels

Additional difficulty modes and accessibility settings

Enhanced polish, balancing, performance optimization, and bug fixes

Possibly a dancing turnip. No promises.

But of course, all of these are variable and not promised basis the interest of users and feasibility.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access build includes:

20 playable levels with stealth and trap-based playstyle

2 main characters unlocked with unique voices and abilities

Core mechanics like trap deployment, enemy patrol logic, and gate/button puzzles

A working cosmetic shop (for fabulous failure)

Basic upgrade system for characters and items

Full controller and keyboard/mouse support

It’s stable, chaotic, and already full of dark vegetable drama — but we’re growing more.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We'll gradually raise the price, but not immediately after early access. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the Veg Uprising community to be a core part of our harvest. You’ll have access to feedback channels via the Steam Community, Discord (if applicable), and in-game surveys.

Your feedback will directly influence:

Level design tweaks

Difficulty balancing

Character dialogue polish

Cosmetic ideas (yes, we’re taking suggestions for pants for a legless potato)

And of course, how often the onion cries mid-combat

We’re building this game with you, not just for you. Expect regular updates, patch notes, polls, and dev logs — and probably some unhinged patch titles, too.”

About This Game

Veg Uprising is a real-time tactical stealth strategy game where you lead a squad of unstable vegetables through enemy-infested garden battlefields.

Each level is a handcrafted tactical scenario. You’ll sneak past patrolling weeds, crouch to stay hidden, use elevation to your advantage, and coordinate your squad to free captured allies or take out boss enemies. Stealth is essential: crouching hides you from sight, but standing up makes noise that enemies can hear. You can’t attack unless you’re on the same ground level as your target, but enemies can hit you from above — so picking your position is everything.

As you progress, you unlock playable characters, each with their own movement quirks and combat personality. Before each mission, you assign loadout items to each character — traps, distractions, tools. Every decision has consequences, and the wrong combo can cost you the mission.

While the shop offers no in-game advantages, you can unlock plenty of cosmetic flair — ridiculous outfits, stylish accessories, and vegetable fashion that absolutely won’t help you win. But at least you’ll look good while you fail.

At its core, Veg Uprising is a mix of tight tactical design, stealth-focused gameplay, and character-driven comedy. It’s loud, weird, strategic, and nothing like your average garden.
