Beyond Words is the definitive roguelike deck and word builder.  A compelling combination of genres in an accessible, fun-filled package where anything is possible.

EASY AS ABC

• Draw letter tiles and place them on the board to create words.

• Each word scores points based on length and tile values.

• Score enough points to beat the target scores and progress.

Switch up the scores of letters, duplicate the ones you like, destroy the ones you don’t. Supercharge scoring with modifiers and stickers. Bend and twist the rules past breaking point with game altering enhancements.

In true roguelike style a host of disruptive and powerful tools unlocks and grows as you play, eventually rewarding you with over 300 unique tweaks and abilities.

Tile Types, Booster Cards, Power Cards, Perks, Pickups – a rich and evolving set of possibilities, constantly adding surprise, delight and opportunities for cunning strategy.

 It's all about synergies, combos and clever play. Every choice can dramatically alter the trajectory of a run. Every word counts.

CRAFTED CHALLENGE

A rich variety of scenarios with varied tiles sets and boards presents you with unique and testing challenges and rewarding replayability.

What if all your letters were worthless? What if you couldn’t discard tiles to improve your hand? What if your letters exploded or mutated after you placed them on the board?

Each charming board presents conundrums and intrigue. How best to place words to reach useful pick-ups and avoid blocking further play? Unlike other 'rinse and repeat' roguelikes the board is a rich evolving tactical space where you can personally shape and tailor each run.

With every move your board fills with your words – making things easier or harder depending on your choices!  Be a friend to your future self by thinking ahead, setting up power scoring combos for that crucial word play. BOSSES WITH BITE

Boss rounds add devious gnarly rule twists which must be overcome to secure victory.  Over 30 unique Boss challenges demand clever and thoughtful play.  Escalating target goals and endless play means there's always a choice which suits your level of mastery.

A deep and varied trail of curated challenges and seeded runs provide many many hours of escalating difficulty and rich playtime. There is something for everyone and if you really want to melt your brain you can go up against the clock or visit the flipside with negative scores.

WELL CHOSEN WORDS
